"Spoony really likes Final Fantasy" are you sure about that? I think you're mixing his FF reviews with his Ultima Retrospective ( which is legit good ) because he skipped a bunch of those games. I actually want to play the FF games, because I always wanted to get into that series and I heard from fans who didn't like Spoony's FF videos because he misrepresented them.
What I find so baffling about people not understanding Persona 4, is that the characters EXPLICITLY TELL YOU how they feel once they defeat their shadows. Kanji I guess you could argue is bi, even though he's clear that his uncertainty about his sexuality is because of him not wanting to be rejected and him not wanting to be made fun of for liking "girly" things. But Naoto explicitly says that she acknowledges she's a woman, and that her whole "I'm a guy" schtick was cause she felt she wouldn't be taken seriously unless she was a guy. Which hilariously was a progressive talking point back in 2008, but it may as well be center-right now given what twitter freaks want that social link to be about.
I 100% blame asshats like Troy Baker who at cons was like "oh yeah Kanji's tooooootally gay" and video essayists who just want to spout about what they want the game to be, rather than what it is (i.e. Snapcube throwing a fit cause of Kanji's dungeon). Like they don't even get that they're the kind of people that cause those shadows to exist, because they're projecting and believing a person is X or Y based solely on their perception of that person, what rumors they've heard, their own insecurities and mental BS, etc.
