Final Fantasy 14 Machinist Primer and Guide: Level 30 – 50 in detail



In this video, I walk you through all of the weaponskills and abilities that the Machinist starts with, followed by going over the ones they learn from level 30 to 50, in order. I explain and show examples for every action, and elaborate on when and where to use what, so you can safely approach the contents of the game. I take time to outline when to use heat gauge and how to manage the battery gauge. I also briefly talk about positioning as a Ranged Physical Damage Dealer Job.

  1. Machinist Changes in 6.2:
    * Rook Autoturret now has a fixed duration, and extra battery gauge instead boosts the potency of it's attacks. This does not really change how you use it however.

    Machinist Changes in 6.1:
    * The machinist got a bunch of potency buffs, the most significant of which applying to Wildfire. Overall it does not affect your rotation.

    Endwalker Release changes:
    You may be wondering where the significant changes list is for this guide. To calm your worries, here they are:

    – The machinist, from level 30-50, received no significant changes at all aside from Potency changes. As such, you can safely follow this guide as if it had been written and recorded in Endwalker! 🙂
