  1. When it comes to aetherytes: they *are* part of the story but the reasoning they give is that 1st: not everyone can use them, it requires a lot of a resource similar to aether in your body(IIRC it was called anima in FF14 1.0 and was actually limited by it in like an energy bar – another bad decision) 2nd: most people who can use them feel debilitatingly sick after, so you can't say…teleport an army into a city using its aetheryte.

Edit1: I really wish I could get into like a discord call with you or something and answer all your questions about the general world, the answers in chat are really… Fractured

Edit2: you've got the right of it. Midgardsormr is on a whole other level. He is the father to the first brood but he's not worried about their petty squabbles.

  2. 38:05 your voice acting of that moggle sounds EXACTLY like your corsairs in your nightfall streams.

And yes you should really do an elite spec review togther with boots, those videos are great.

44:20 she's actually pretty good in combat, as you'll see in the later expansions. Considering she can use both white mage and astrologian spells.

46:00 oh no, I definitely don't think this game looks that amazing, even though I've been playing since ARR. BDO looks a fuck ton better. Even gw2 does in PoF areas.

47:00 she's a padjal white mage, not a shaman. Padjals are hyurs with horns that never age beyond their child/teen years and can commune with the gridania elementals. They are pretty much all white mages.

1:33:00 Yes that is a mount, obtainable in shadowbringers via beast tribe rep.

1:39:00 It's a referrence to mog, a playable moggle in FF6 who was a mix of a geomancer and a lancer. And yes, what you mentioned earlier about references to older FFs like the gold saucer and such are just that – references. They have no ties to the original game at all.

1:42:53 if you talk to the guards they actually mention that she DID do the chores such as sweeping the floor and such.and the guards were outraged by it.

2:29:15 Yes it LITERALLY is a whole nation of outlaws. You will find that they actually often have issues with their own people who go back to their old piracy habbits and they have to have their yellowjackets "handle it". 2 of the prominent "crews" in limsa actually conduct officially sanctioned pirate raids on garlean ships (like privateers in real life back in the age of sail). Tbh WP, your chat has a ton of mis information.

2:32:49 Dragon voices are the same across all language versions.

2:37:30 Its not that sophisticated WP, you're overthinking a lot in these 3 streams about the story.

2:43:25 I've always felt that's a problem with western games, especially American made games nowadays. Its not just a gw2 thing. People seem to be REALLY scared to touch stuff like racism/sexism/rape/etc all the "icky" stuff because I feel western devs are afraid they will be canceled on twitter or some shit. Asian devs give a TON less shit about that and will gleefully go into those "darker" toned stories.

3:18:25 FF14 has a fanbase that just goes along with whatever bullshit yoshida throws at them. Literally. I'm not happy with it either but there's nothing 1 person can really do. I still think that game has the shittiest tab targetting system I've experienced in an MMO with tab targetting, and they haven't fixed it in years. They will always give the "game engine excuse" and "its too hard" expect you to deal with it.

3:21:35 well yea, sony and microsoft have sat on their laurels. They ARE big multi billion dollar companies after all, they aren't really that interested in taking risks because it might dent their profits a tiny bit if what works is sufficient.

  4. I must say, your excitement is very endearing to watch! Reminds me when I first started XIV myself. And you’re asking all the right questions, can’t wait for you to eventually finish Shadowbringers to have them all answered.
