  1. Lightcone is star rails version of weapons while Eidalons are star rails version of constellation. If you see anyone say they have E1 or E3 for a character it's essentially the same as C1 or C3.
    A lot of things are similar between genshin and star rail in terms of function the names are a little different tho.

    In genshin you have the stamina bar but you can jump and explore everything while in star rail you have unlimited stamina but can't jump or explore everything.

    There is a auto battle function and you can decide if ultimates are allowed or not but if they are then they're used as soon as they're available.

    There is no elemental reactions so you don't have to worry about that but some paths can debuff enemies, buff you, shield, attack one enemy, attack multiple enemies and so on.

    About the warps (wishing) on the standard banner you get to choose a 5 star yourself after making 300 wishes so if there is a character you want and haven't gotten among them then you can simply pick them.
    The pity system on the character banners carries along to the next like in genshin which is nice.

    Star rails version of resin can stack up to 2400 extra that you can extract whenever so don't feel pressured about "wasting" them when you aren't online.

  2. Thought I would add a HSR equivalent to Genshin equivalent

    The easiest thing to understand, I don't know why I put these here but just incase/for anyone else:
    Stellar Jades = Primogems (duh)
    Star Rail Special Passes (the gold ones)= Intertwined Fate (ones for the Limited banners)
    Star Rail Passes (the silver ones) = Acquaint Fate (ones for the Permanent banners)

    Other important stuff:
    Eidolon = Constellations (you get them if you get multiple characters via the wish function/if given to you for free)
    Lightcone = Weapon (Since in Genshin, its sorted into sword/bow/claymore/catalyst/polearm, but in HSR its sorted into paths instead and they have their own weapons)
    Relics = Artifacts
    Traces = Talents

    Semi-story stuff:
    Aeons = Gods of the Stars (They are the source of the different paths) = Archons

    Gameplay/Farmable stuff:
    Caverns/Calyxes = Domains + Leylines
    Credits = Mora (duh)
    Synthesize = Cooking + Crafting in one

    Little extra notes:
    Exploration:
    Destructible Objects – Don't worry about not destroying all of them, they respawn every day !!

    If anyone has other things to link that I missed out, feel free to reply and I will edit my comment in response!

  3. I think for right now a team with Sampo, Serval, and March will be your best core team members. Serval and Sampo are both damage over time characters and Sampo buffs all damage over time. The light cone you pulled at the end with the sleeping girl will be great on whichever you choose. For your 4th Asta is really good late game but isnt that good early, but you can give her all your defensive gear to help her survive, she buffs attack amd speed but theyre very inconsistant early. Until you get Natasha or if you get lucky and pull lynx or bailu you wont have any reliable healing

  4. While you are in a combat, you'll notice those three buttons on the top right corner of the screen. Those are 2x speed, auto battle, and the pause button respectively. We recommend you to turn on the 2x speed button, as the combat will look more natural. Trust me, once you turn on that, you'll never go back lol. The auto battle function lets the Ai to do the fight for you, in case you're farming materials, or just wants to kick back.

    In a dialogue scene, that eye button besides the auto read is the hide UI button, in case you want to take a clean screenshot.

  5. Fun fact: Sampo has a Finnish name. Sampo being a Finnish given name. In finnish myth sampo is a magical device or object described in many different ways that was constructed by the blacksmith Ilmarinen and that brought riches and good fortune. His last name Koskinen is a Finnish surname meaning rapids.

  6. "I can always come here later" sometimes just don't work in this game. Those portraits at the start? They had unique dialogue between Kafka and SW that you can't get after tutorial.

  7. MC's single target ult is actually stronger than the multi. If you're only fighting one enemy the multi is a waste, and sometimes it's smarter to focus on killing one troublesome enemy even if there are multiple

  8. You're starting at a good time. Since the PS5 version is launching, they're going to be re-running all the previous banners so you won't have to wait long for fan favorites like Silver Wolf, Luocha, and Kafka to come around again.

  9. The game is going to give you a lot and I mean a LOT of free tickets. The gray ones are for the standard/starter banner and I highly recommend you pull on the starter banner because you will be getting a 5 star in 50 pulls which the game will help you get very easily. Also, in the menu there is a tab called travel log and in that you can test out limited 5 star characters which in this case is Mommy Jingliu. You call also try out those standard characters you see in the warp section in the standard banner under character trials.

  10. Just read the tutorials and everything will be easy to understand, because you didn't read u kinda lost 10 pulls but it's nothing special, you always can get them again. So please read everything, that will help you a lot

  11. I'm glad you're reacting to Honkai Impact 3rd too! Genshin and Star Rail are amazing games, but for people like me, Honkai Impact 3rd has always felt like a more personal game. It's definitely the overlooked sibling of the Hoyo family, but it has so much heart and love put into it.

    Playing all three of these games is quite a doozy. Take your time. Even if you don't play Honkai Impact 3rd or play a bit and drop it, thank you for taking the time to check it out.

  12. I'm glad you caught the portraits in the entry hall – not everybody does, and while you can go back and hear Herta's recorded commentary at any time, you only get one chance at hearing Kafka and Silver Wolf talk about them. (Also, the very first entry in the Quest Journal – before the tutorial mentions how to call it up – is also the very first hint visible to players of just what ability enabled Kafka to slip on board to the "public" area of the station. I caught that – and the following one, as did you – which did a good job of heightening tension.)

    We may never know Silver Wolf's rating on that gun, as we've now discovered more about what happened after the camera faded to black: she indeed swung by and played with the gun (among other things) on their way out, which included patching over its original code.

    The stamina bar is kind of pointless here, as while this is technically open-world it explicitly avoids letting you freely interact with the world's geometry. This game was created in part specifically so the developers would have a less complex engine to play with creating and balancing content for. While you can use sprinting to avoid a lot of random fights, you can also use stealth, use camouflage, use a variety of special character techniques, or just go through the fights, so for game mechanic purposes sprinting is just a minor fun thing that doesn't need to be limited by stamina.

    When building teams from this video's point on, do keep in mind that the content you're running into is specifically balanced for who a player not pulling for anybody after Asta would have available to them. In other words, the Herta Space Station has an enemy distribution vulnerable to "the Trailblazer", March 7th, Dan Heng, and Asta or Himeko (they're not interchangeable, but both work for this purpose). The next major chapter of the story will give you two new characters (or three depending on how you look at it) and will provide uses for them. And so on although it gets more complicated. Pretty much anybody you can pull will be arguably overpowered for some portion of the game… but you really don't have the energies to build everybody at once and will need to prioritize. You can afford to build whoever you like the most first, though: the support character system will let you borrow enough for basic daily grinding.

    It won't really matter for a while, but for using March 7th in combat you should prioritize her shielding. She actually will do more damage responding to attacks on shielded targets and build up her ultimate more quickly that way then by attacking directly. For picking targets to shield when you don't have a clear imminent threat, Preservation characters tend to get the greatest share of the incoming damage, followed closely by Destruction. (There is one character you'll meet much later who at first glance appears to be a prominent exception to this rule – but reasons.) Further, when she shields characters with most of their health intact it adds a taunt.

    Recovering from break status doesn't literally result in immediate action: it's a peculiarity of the way the speed and turn system works and things can interfere with the timing of "is no longer weakness broken" and "is ready to act". You're actually seeing enemies who are poor at recovery, so only doing so at the last instant.

  13. I don't usually recommend characters because I mean come it's your decision it's your gameplay not ours but I would definitely recommend Jingliu or Silverwolf ( I personally don't enjoy Silverwolf's gameplay but you might most definitely) if you are wanting any premium characters. But once again you do you "to each their own" they always say, anyways I can't wait to see how your journey in this game goes.

    Sorry to be this way but I can understand some ppl might dislike me for saying that about Silverwolf, tbh I love the character and her design it's just mainly the fact tons of ppl say you can't play the game without her when you clearly can. Think of her as like Bennett from genshin for instance amd maybe some might understand.

  14. I'll explain the gacha system that Honkai Star Rail and Genshin uses since they are exactly the same with the same odds on the character banners. It is very important before I do though to say that while the 5 star at 50 departure warps (at a 20% discount) may sound like a lot, but it's a really really good deal.

    5 star characters are guaranteed at the 90th pull. The chance of pulling one earlier is 0.6% per wish/warp. At the 74th pull this rate goes up by 6% per pull. So 6.6% on the 74th, 12.6% on the 75th, and so on and so forth until the rate reaches 100% at 90. That being said, you are statistically most likely to get it significantly before the 80th pull but after the 74th. To go all the way to 90 means you are exceptionally unlucky.
    You get one 4 star every 10th wish without a 4 star. at a fixed 5.1% chance per pull. If you roll a 5 star on the 10th one after a 4 star, you are given the 5 star and the 4 star just has to wait till the next wish (this is the reason I have Cyno in Genshin).

    The Departure warp gives 1 guaranteed 5 star at the 50th pull assuming you don't get one earlier, so it's way sooner. Also it costs less tickets to get 10 (8 to be precise). This just makes it the obvious best choice.

  15. Minor spoiiler about why Kafka had yellow dialouge highlighted

    you were wondering why "listen" was highlighted yellow while talking with Kafka at the start. this is a very specific thing relating to one of Kafka's abilities. Her spirit whisper allows her to manipulate people into doing things for her. in this case manipulating you into listenign to what she has to say.

  16. I just realized, so Kafka already hypnotizing/brainwashing the MC since beginning. I'm curious what will happens if she didnt do it.

    "Listen:" = She activating her skill

  17. Kafka has a unique skill, called "spirit whisper". It's like hypnosis or hypnotic suggestion. Basically she convinces those she uses the skill on to do what she tells them. It's a bitch to deal with, when you fight her in the future.

  18. you mentioned genshin so ill use those terms; lightcone = weapon, relics = artifacts (a 4 pc set from exploration/grind and a 2pc set from Sim Universe), eidolons = constellation

  19. I recommend getting the 40 roll guarantee standard 5star hope u get sustains or bronya cause it's much better than any dps there and i suggest holding your jades until u see the character that you really really wanted to get cause you can get free good 4star dps there like qinque and serval just build them well and you will definitely clear some harder content
