  1. A perfect review of the game on Xbox and exactly how I feel about the game myself.
As a player of FFXIV on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X, I can totally agree with all the points in regards performance, loading times and the 'profanity' filter.
As Xbox is my main platform, I didn't hesitate to buy the full experience there and jump right back into my character to play. The performance is identical to the PS5 version for me, but I also noticed the weird loading times within instanced content which is very inconsistent for me. At some times it is very quick (equal to PS5/PC), but some other times, it is just very long, similar to what MLIG described during the video. It's either a weird server interaction between client and server or something off with the game version itself, but definitely something that needs to be addressed.
When it comes to the 'profanity filter', it is for me definitely one of the more distracting issues I have noticed, but thankfully one I can workaround by using Discord voice chat via Xbox and using my phone for interaction with friends. Sometimes, in-game is still used, but thankfully the instances of the filter picking up words haven't been too crazy for me.
Overall, I still enjoy playing on Xbox, but I really hope that those issues can be worked out for the release of the Expansion in 6 weeks.

  2. The biggest upgrade for Dawntrail for me is finally getting decent AA. I've been playing at 4K on my 1440p monitor for a while because of how bad it currently is.

  3. I finally get to try dlss. i don't play a lot of games. the new benchmark features dlss when the framerate drops from 60. and i can tell when the dlss kicks in. there's a difference in blur.

this game looks fine without AA. TSCMAA is blurry. Although not as blurry as some straight TSR like in FFVII

6:00 this dips is even on pc, but since i'm at 120fps i never noticed. the only part that drops below 60 is somewhere in east shroud and eureka anemos.

  4. The only thing that matters, is the deferred rendering flicker fixed? The game looks absolutely horrible in actual play due to that damned flicker.

EDIT: Apparently it's not fixed, still see tons of issues with it in your video.

  5. Should have also tested out the Hunt Trains, as that seems to be the most common way to cap tomes outside of the raids and dailies. And also would be nice to test out both "All effects on" for benchmark and "Player All, Party Limited, Group None" (actually playable).

  6. I spent an insane amount of time in FFXI on PC…hundreds of days of playtime, so said the game.

Edit: While playing I had no idea the PS5 version of FFXIV dropped that many fps at 4k, VRR is amazing to me!

  7. Anybody got any ideas on what to do about Xbox profanity filter? I've tried contacting Xbox Support, Square-Enix Support on every channel and social media platform imaginable and I'm getting nowhere. As a simple gamer it's impossible to get anywhere. I feel like we need some big names talking about this otherwise nothing will be done… 🙁

  8. You forgot the part where you are forced to set the language of your xbox to UK if you got an EU account. If it's set to US te game simply denies you access.

This game is complete dogshit in terms of account management. Every time I come back I'm forced to spend days fixing all sorts of issues they create.

  9. On PC the game looks great with Nvidia's auto-HDR filter asuming you tweak the HUD opacity to stopit treating the icons as highlights. Its night and day better than the Win11 auto-HDR toggle.

  10. I think the bug reason why it took so long was because of the controls.

As someone whos played on ps4 and experienced the controllet layout, the game simply wouldnt work on xbox without a touch pad on the controller.

Xbox didnt even have mouse and keybaord support until 2020.

    Ps4 where as ps4 did.
