Final Fantasy 14 Archer to Bard guide: Level 1 – 50 in detail

In this video, I walk you through all of the weaponskills and abilities that the Archer, and later the Bard, learns in the first fifty levels of the game. I explain and show examples for every action, and elaborate on when and where to use what, so you can safely approach the contents of the game. If you find things are going a bit fast, or maybe a bit slow, I do recommend pausing or skipping ahead. I do imagine there are some points where you may benefit a lot from pausing though!

As your rotation evolves, I make sure to present you the rotation you need to follow.
We also take a little detour to talk about Global Cooldowns early on due to their importance for the Bard.

Details regarding the Repertoire proc rates: Imagine you have a five sided die. The chance of activating Repertoire is equal to the chance to roll a 1. If you instead have two dice, then Mage’s Ballad’s chance to activate is the probability that at least one of those dice is a 1. The way to calculate this, is to take 100% and then subtract the chance of Not getting a 1, and since this is 80%, you simply multiply 80% with 80% the amount of times you have dice. I.e. with 3 DoTs, you do 80% x 80% x 80% = 51.2%
Later on, when your DoTs upgrade, their procrates also double to 40%. The only difference this makes for the dice example, is that you also count 2s.For reference, the 1 proc chances with 40% procrate DoTs are as follows:
1 DoT: 40%; 2 DoTs: 64%; 3 DoTs: 78%; 4 DoTs: 87%; 5 DoTs: 92%; 6 DoTs: 95%; 7 DoTs: 97%
