I’m still learning to edit and voice-over, and I hope everyone enjoys the video. After playing Final Fantasy XIV for a few years now and having the time to return to World of Warcraft for the Dragonflight expansion, I felt it was an excellent opportunity to compare FFXIV and World of Warcraft. I love RPGs and MMOs and want to share that passion with everyone. Let me know what you guys think of the video in the comments below!
Thanks for watching!

There is a ton of stuff that didn't make it into the video. I like WoWs' approach to gearing, WoWs PVP, I think the work orders system is really cool, timewalking is an interesting concept, and the classes all feel unique. I plan on making a follow-up, so I hope you guys like the video.
Nice clickbait title that is debunked at the end of your video. Just another clickbaiter YouTuber…
Mythic Plus is the worst piece of content in WoW and the most toxic. If you have friends who play with you every week, then yeah, it works, but many of us don't have that luxury, and it ends up being the most painful experience ever. They really need to completely overhaul it and make it better. The only thing WoW does correctly is PVP, and that's it. I'm probably going to drop the game once Diablo 4 comes out, as I'm liking everything that has been announced so far for the game. The game looks fun and enjoyable to play.
FFXIV is crazy good!
Great content can't wait for asmon to react to this. Subscribed
I loved ff14 for years. But let's be honest, they basically stole there game model off wow
The problem I find with ff14 is that it’s too hard where the fun is. I want to experience the ultimate and savage fights while hearing the cool music, but it’s too hard. Comparing Naxxramas to ff14 raiding is just night and day. I prefer to relax while playing with my friends while also feeling progress and satisfaction. That is an impossibility with ff14 raiding. There is a limit I believe they should go in difficulty mechanically, alliance raids are the best content in ff14 because they’re fun and semi challenging but don’t feel impossible at all. Ultimates and savage raids on the other hand are far too unforgiving and don’t even offer rewards worth the time investments. Extreme Trials are tedious but they are beatable with effort, and once you’ve got the patterns down you can easily do the fights. That was how I felt for the first 2 savage fights in Endwalker too, until I reach P3S and the fights mechanics just got too long to memorize properly, but memory isn’t the only problem with savage, it is the unforgiving nature of them. In WoW you have lots of forgiveness for messing up, but in ff14 savage or ultimate if you mess up even once you just die. It is a false sense of difficulty, if they were less punishing like normal raids it might be actually fun to do the mechanics in savage and ultimate.
title needs work, click-bait is bread and butter but it goes a little bit too far
I dont know, I'd say FFXIV deserves the win. Better story, better game design and better community. Plus the ability to take breaks is huge both for adult life and playing other games.
Bald 30yo man reads comments
Lmfao yeah ok 🤪
FFXIV Good, WoW Bad.
15:55 I mean, technically there's World Bosses in XIV, they are the rare fates like Odin or Formidable
Overall I prefer FFXIV to WoW. It's the problem of WoW constantly tearing down the previous expansion to make way for the new one. If you're a new player you kind stumble around in a previous expansion until you hit the requirement for the latest expansion and it immediately locks you out and tells you to go play the new one; this was my experience playing BFA just before Shadowlands.
Like some here however, I do feel FFXIV needs a little more consistency and streamlining in some of its base/old features.
As a veteran of both who dropped both for different reasons…no it isn't.
Agree, WoW is still unrivaled except for Story, and I say story, not lore and worldbuilding, WoW does that a lot better with open world zones and the likes. Anyway as for WoW story, it was never about that. I think the peak of that was in Wrath and whenever the Old Gods and Titans show up it gets a lot more interesting, but besides those plot lines it's just not all that great, mostly because it's disjointed with their xpacs which is a valid way of doing things honestly. It's all about gameplay, and the break people took in 9.1 and then returning for S4 or Dragonflight with their stories about them missing WoW gameplay reinforces this even more for me.
yep in every aspect, especially PVP in FFXIV is amazing
Played Wow and started BFA, stuck with it for 3 months and quit, for the time I stayed their I have to say that the places and maps wins against FF, I just like the colors and fantasy style they have, not that 14 is bad but Wow has it on the bag when it comes to environment, I hope 14 goes for more faantasy esq maps later on.
kiokatsu has a better character creator than both of these games so it's better by default
The only negative I have for FFXIV is the damn mogstation. I cant stand their site.
Got tired of FF14 MsQ sluggish playthrough.. i want to play an mmo not a single rpg game.
