  1. Started out playing as a BLM but once I hit 50 I switched to Sam. By far my favorite damage job so far.

After hitting 80 with Sam and getting most of my tome gear, I’ve went back to level BLM. It’s a whole other beast.

  2. He mentioned "early on" and "AoE" in the same sentence regarding dragoon…. uh??? Level 40 for your FIRST AoE attack is not early. Frankly that's a big reason why I've avoided leveling the job

  3. I started playing 3 weeks ago and started as pug. Monk was boring as fuck and I'm so glad I switched to samurai at 50. I prob would have quit lol

  4. I play dragoon it looks really cool and I liked the rotations so far. Played for a month last year and got it to 47 so who knows if ill still love the flower after unlocking the more complex combos. Just started playing again today, I'm so glad I have the time to play this game again it felt bad having to stop playing a game that felt this good. Im just glad I still have my sprout so people know not to expect that I know what im doing yet lol

  5. I couldn't say I have a favorite between sam and monk, im a bad mf with the two, I need to make a video of how to properly use them.
As of the beginning of this month, I've been trying the dragoon, finally reached 53. So far I'm liking it, and it's only just begun

  6. samurai – requires high personal skill… rolls eyes please, playing that class effectively requires you to 1. Roll face on keyboard 2. profit 3. mess up stuff 4. still be top dps 5. profit meanwhile monks need to hit every single note to compete. you should have placed "high personal skill" this on monks chart 😛 otherwise a solid video definietly a good watch

  7. question. it looks like the ninja is pretty rooted while attacking ruining the class fantasy of this nimble fast and stealthy rogue. does that hold true to what little gameplay i saw here?

  8. "be careful of ledges you can fall off of. You WILL be made fun of at least once for this."

As a drg main… Yeah. I don't even use my back flip pretty much at all specifically for that reason. I can never trust that it won't send me to my death.

And even then, I still end up falling off ledges. Like in emanation, I didn't realize you could fall off the platform while trying to place an aoe in the corner….

  9. I don't have an opinion on this. I've not bothered with MNK, SAM is fine, NIN is okay, and I haven't gotten into DRG enough to actually level it.

Honestly, this is the the role I feel offers the most distinct feel between classes, 2nd only to Healer, but with Range being a preference I find myself not caring about any of the Melee classes. And I can't Tank for shite.

  10. I just can't choose. For me, as I am not allowed to buy games, I also look for jobs that come together by 60. Which makes things harder. I want to pick Dragoon but Life of the Dragon, Mirage Drive, and Nastrond come by 70. Also, the fact the all classes have combos and that GCDs are longer than I expected make it so that Monk becomes slightly less preferable(also the positionals, I just can't do them), because I love combo-based gameplay like a fighting game, but the GCDs make that slower and the fact that all classes have combos means that I can get combos on other classes. I also like rougue classes and daggers, but the Ninja seems to be based around Ninjutsu magic, so that seems a bit boring. So which one should I choose?

  12. They should really focus on making Monk of all jobs a more fleshed out and polished experience. There are many classes that use big swords or big staves, there is only one class that uses their fists and kicks. Neglecting that to the extent that the ffxiv team has can turn away a whole archetype of players. Dont like DRK? Do warrior, its similar. Dont like Black mage? Do red mage, still similar. There is no alternative to the martial arts style of gameplay that monk has so if its clunky, it could kill people's interest in the game.

  13. Come to think at it, I think not caring a lot for the cons is what's most important to me. Also, unique value. Ninja it is to me, but Dragoon would be also a contender. I tried Samurai and while I lose the aesthethic side I just don't feel it's too much… fun, at least up to lv 58, what I reached. Monk just makes me mad, WAY too much work to be just mediocre.

  14. I have played both the Ninja and the Samurai. This was years ago. The ninja had a timing problem. It was really hard for the game to keep up with the combos. I read a lot about that being an issue for a lot of players. So I switched to Samurai and loved it. When I come back to the game soon I look forward to using her through this latest expansion.
