  1. I feel the third party convo will be one that never end but still always good to see it covered. All in all, i think most players understand whats required of them.

    Great vid Ginge👊

  2. This means nothing in the grand scheme of the game. Let them cheat. The reward is not worth the effort nor energy to complete the rays honestly. I say again:

    Let. Them. Cheat.

  3. I haven’t seen cheating this rampant since some of the more egregious add-ons from the Wrath era of Wow back in 08/09. The CAD ✍️ drawing overlay plugins for mechanics are really problematic. They need a hammer dropped on them hard and fast.

Then again this game is enjoying its golden era just like that game was back then. I guess you know it’s a golden age when the sheer tide of players means the % tide of cheaters is going to rise proportionally.

  4. It's one thing to cheat but to go to the lengths of using these tools during a world race, knowing how many people are watching is just plain stupid. Data mines were leaked on stream, cactbot (the tool used for callouts) was also used on stream. Yoshi P has been aware of ACT since he really cracked down on it due to the amount of toxicity it brought about in game since stormblood or possibly before that. I really feel like people aren't using their brains when it comes to this stuff… It's one thing to do it but doing it when a world first race is going on with the chances of ffxiv devs watching wasn't a smart move. You can't say none of them were watching either because it's obvious at least one of them was.

  5. Except from world first I don't mind the ACT and the trackers as long as ppl don't get salty on which other . ACT made me a better player 100%, pushed me foward to be a better player. The policy of not taking about it is good enough for me tho

  6. it's weird to be from WoW and hear all this talk about third party addons being cheating. It's like going from a sport where everyone is using steroids and we all accept the top players have the best steroids and the game is even made for using steroids, to FF where I've seen people calling a 9th player to help with callouts cheating.

  7. Unfortunately, third party tools look like one of those things where they'll have to stop being nice and hand out exemplary bans to big streamers and influencers who use them in public. That's the only way modders will get the message. (Or at least stop normalizing or justifying using mods.)

  8. People who would like to run a world 1st should register with SE and in turn SE will provide them a tool that would monitor their PC for any 3rd party software. The world 1st team definately had an edge as they already have Cacbot installed to call out all the necessary or forgetable mechanics. If you don't want to register then SE will not recognize your world 1st attempts.

  11. Pretty sure the mistakes he is talking about (the biggest one, I think) is the housing roulette. But let's assume that he is also including the lack of ears for hrothgars….

  12. I simply want to point out that in my recommended videos for THIS VIDEO there is a video from The Phookas from two weeks ago, where they released a rundown of datamined mounts and third party tool sourced glamour items that are currently unreleased.
They ALSO have an "all ultimate weapons" video.

  13. I think the place they’re going to have to start dropping the hammer is in PvP add-ons.

It’s a bit like steroid use in baseball. Say you’re juicing to win a homerun derby at the All-Star game. Not a huge deal. But say you’re juicing during the regular season and playoffs, and that affects you winning a division, playoff standing, winning a World Series: that’s different. It affects other players and their goals.

It will probably come down to reporting players you suspect of using add-ons to give themselves a competitive advantage, and SE will have to take a break from trying to sell us NFTs to investigate.

  14. Let's not go down the one of the paths that made WoW get bad reputation.

Once you open the doors just a tiny bit, it is all downhill from there.

The line of what is morally right and what is morally wrong gets blurry — before you know it, it is already too late.

  15. This is the consequence of them silently permitting it. People are going to push it further and further. When Alexander Ultimate had them drawing in indicators with text and voice call outs, that should have been where they drew the line. But, they didn't. That means it was something that YoshiP and the folks at Square Enix silently accepted.

And I cannot stress this enough. FF14 needs to standardized their indicators in at least the casual content though I would encourage them to add them to the hardcore content as well. You can create much more complex fights when players know how to react like with the Omega raids.
