#FFXIV Ul'dah is better than Limsa!

Everyone thinks Limsa is this super fast place! But if it’s so busy it makes your loads take longer… is it? No!

  1. I never understood the appeal of Limsa
Between Raubahn (one of my favorite NPCs, right up there with Estinien) and something about the grand company's attitude, I always found Ul'dah to be my fave location.
I don't even hardly use the market board

  2. Because teleporting and walking a short distance to the mb is less effort than teleporting, click on aetheryte, click aethernet, click sapphire avenue, walk to mb.

The time difference is negligible so the option with less clicking wins out for most people. And while you could argue the gc is faster, I think most people care more about mb.

Also limsa aether being located in the center of town and right in the middle of vendors lends itself to being a better place to hangout and show off glamours with more traffic. Theres not really a central hangout spot in uldah due to things being more spread out.

  3. As someone who used to be a big penny pincher (and sometimes still am), Limsa also has the benefit of access to ferries to Vesperbay (useful during ARR), Kugane and Old Sharlayan. I also just plain prefer the aesthetic of Limsa to that of UI'dah due to how open and bright it is.

And while I won't deny that getting to the Immortal Flames is objectively the fastest, it weirdly feels the exact opposite to me for a reason I can exactly pinpoint.

  4. Gridania ftw, it's the only city state where you don't need to zone to get to the airship landing, the only citystate with flowing water. Getting to the grand company and markets is still pretty fast (don't tp, it's further), and, at least on my server, there's usually live music at the aetherite

  5. An interesting short! I always felt like Ul’Dah was the fastest, it’s nice to see some stats. GC is right by the aetheryte and marketboard are a hop away from the mini one. Limsa being faster for world hopping makes sense, but I don’t world hop much, so Ul’Dah has always felt comfier.
