FFXIV – The content drought experience

FFXIV is my favorite mmorpg of all time, I havent put as many gameplay hours into anything else, and as much as i love doing extremes, savages, ultimates, sightseeing logs, tribe quests and daily roulettes there are some times where final fantasy 14 goes through content droughts that even I cant handle

  1. I feel this. I probably shouldn't be full of shit and complain about not having content after 4k hours but I want more. My friends are all taking a break from the game and it makes me panic.

  2. Have you heard of Deep Dungeon or Eureka, or Bojza? How about you two go do that… ffs, there is plenty of content in the game it is just no one wants to do it or go through the process of unlocking it. I mean half the people in my FC alone do not have access to Heaven-On-High or Eureka Orthos because they just can't be bothered with completing Palace of the Dead's storyline. .

Content creators are a leech on the community and the game.
Stop perpetuating this myth that FFXIV is content droughted for clicks, views, attention and ad money at the expense of the health of the game, why don't you be useful and help sprouts unlock content and progress, otherwise you can f$*% off.

  3. The ultimate comment is very true.

It's there, just asking for me to challenge it.

But whoever you do it with will become a living example of the Double Dragon ending where you beat the whole game with your friend only to beat the crap out of each other at the end.

  4. our fc is bored as well- but now we started eureka again. Its kinda refreshing grp up with randoms and have pure fun by making genocide to mobs…..and its not creepy at all that many WoLs turn into massmurderers there 😀

Okay, but when boredom comes, you open your eyes for new or old stuff that you were blind to before.
sometimes its ingame Content, sometimes its spending time outside or doing more sport, sometimes its another game.

Content will come, until then, find distraction and embrace some change from time to time 😀

  6. Yoshi-P always encourages people to not play the game and to take the time to enjoy other things. Also, coming from World of Warcraft? You want to talk about content drought? Ah hah.

Ah hah hah hah hah haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah….

  7. Have you thought about getting rich? Farming the economy? Surely there's something of value you can buy with the game's currency and make a profit. And then use that money to buy something really nice.

  8. Always remember. It's not about what's new. It's about what you can create yourself. Plus is enough dumb stuff on older content to make videos forever and we watch you for you not the content

  9. I logged on, did the hatching tide event before it's gone, gave a fistbump to all the little loporits in the tribe quest and then went back to doing something else.

  10. Been plying FF14 exclusively for so long that playing anything else feels weird now. But I should.
Well, it’s about time to check out other FF titles before 16 comes out.

  11. I honestly think FFXIV kind of blatantly opted for the 'revolving door' angle of consumers. They get to slow down on developing anything because they have an influx of sprouts who don't know better and take their time devouring everything, increasing profits at the expense of leaving veterans. I'm not going to blame the sprouts (At least not all of them. Some of you have a really smart mouth for a new player), but when they stop coming in then the game's decay will only accelerate. Then they'll spend an inordinate amount of cash on marketing and revitalize the sprout intake.

This is just a single player RPG you pay monthly for, honestly. I'm very disappointed. Also yes: I did do Skysteels, Eurekan Armor/Weapon, Bozja, all savages, and was a very dedicated deep dungeon diver just 20 floors away from Necromancer. None of this is current content and it's depressing. I get to be level 90, but level sync makes it so I can't experience that for over half the time anyways. At least in other MMOs, I get to keep my spells even when synced. Don't even get me started on the jobs this expac…

Sorry, it turned into a vent. I really love this game. Played it since HW all the way up to EW where I felt like I was just plain being mocked by Yoshi ("If you want a challenge, go play Ultimate!")

I do hope things change. Nobody wins from a boring game. But odds look unfavorable.

EDIT: Also the new DD is terrible. Let's not recommend it.

  12. Every single patch lol. People will put in like 700 hours in 3 months then complain there's not enough to do.

My favorite was when an FC mate complainef that there's nothing to do, so was questioned:
    "Have you farmed extreme mounts?"
    "No"
    "Done gold saucer stuff?"
    "Nope"
"Have you started any crafters or gatherers?"
"Not really." (Had level 11 miner lol)
    "Done any deep dungeons?"
    "No"

Repeat for several more things before being asked what they had done other than whine about there not being anything to do.

  13. Then there is people like me, that started a year before Endwalker, rushing (while still respecting the cutscenes mind you) from ARR to the end of Shadowbringers with the hopes of doing something with a FC of 5+ year vets as soon as Endwalker came out with hope of knowing them better and making friends, still ended up playing Endwalker all by myself, left that FC and now I have all this old content I can do but no one to experience it with since everyone already completed them years ago. Well, at least now maybe I'll actually grab the blue quest for the sightseeing log! slowly creaks personal closet door shut

  14. The two little guys depicted in the sketch 100%, no shadow of a doubt, have an EX from heavensward they somehow never got around to beating synced. There's always something 😂

  15. This is ironically why I ultimately stopped playing MMOs. I played ESO on Playstation, which requires you to pay money for internet services. The cost got too much and ESO didn't have any new actual content so I ultimately left.
