  1. Awesome! Seeing these moments hit the players always makes me excited. The feels train just hits different this patch. Now as a little bit of a lore nugget: Yeah, Fandaniel is from the Convocation (the red masked Ascians) though he is sundered like the rest of the remaining Ascians. This puts him on the same level as Igeyorhm and Nabriales. But one thing that sets him apart from all the other Ascians is his face glyph. You see, they're all based on FFXII's Esper Glyphs, flipping them upside down and taking out a part of it. I'll link a comparison for some of them at the end so you see what I mean. The thing that makes him unique, is that his shape isn't actually a part of the esper glyph, but rather the empty space in between it. What this means… We don't actually know. It seems to imply he's inverted in some way. The image is a bit outdated (before 5.3), but if you look at Fandaniel's you'll see that his isn't supposed to be flipped like the rest, and that his facial glyph is in the white space. Here's the link: https://pbs.twimg.com/media/EOhBFmbUwAApZX0.jpg They also mention 2 Ascians missing based on the platforms we've seen in their realm, but we now know that the Fourteenth seat is Azem's, ours, so not an Ascian in our case. And the last platform may have just been for those who sought an audience with the Ascians.

  2. It's so crazy seeing the ShB trailer after playing 5.3, they literally showed how we beat the Ascians, Emet as the imp, Elidibus as the angel, even the forced job swapping ties into his fight calling the powers of the other WoL, and them it dies in a blast of light revealing the Crystal Tower while Graha narrates. Little Elidibus hurt my heart so much.

  3. The 'Seat of Sacrifice' music (To the edge) was the song that Soken(our legendary musical composer) wrote while he was in the hospital dealing with cancer during the pandemic last year. The song was met with praise and no one knew how it was written/composed untill fan fest this year when Soken came out and told everyone

  4. Elidibus' tale (and the unsundered Ascians in general) hits me most in 5.3 patch, like eventhough I disagree with their plan, I understood their argument why them leading the world is the better reality. And Elidibus got blinded by his duty to the point of being enslaved? Man, even though I want to slap him hard (I wish Y'sthola would roast him more back in Anyder), his descent is very understandable.

Congrats on clearing ShB! (well there's still the last tier of Eden. LoL). Forward to EW we go πŸ˜€

  5. I was pretty floored when our party used a dps limit break and Elidibus countered with paladin hallowed ground. 0 damage no sell… but that's OUR thing!

  6. 10:40 no kidding dude, Elidibus is tied (with Ardbert) for best ShB VA in my book. Lyna ain't far behind either.

edit: Regarding the button-mashing QTE – it's MUCH easier if you just mash keyboard buttons; you don't actually have to spam-click the on-screen button. This goes for all similar things too.

  7. Sorry to hear about what happened but even more thank you that you still did this for us then!

After having heard Elidibus so often in so many reactions, I was going and looked up the voice actor of Elidibus. If i didn't go very wrong, it seems like Matt Stokoe also did two minor roles in Stormblood, that I sadly don't remember. But he isn't listed in any other video games, so seeing him performing as Elidibus, I just want him to be more recognized, games, hire that man!
Also, I'm sure you already know it, but it's not just the original Warrior of Light you saw in the book, but also the original of the Final Fantasy franchise. You can see him in the logo of FF1 πŸ˜€
I'm somehow still mad, they didn't actually put him on the throne, our little prince xD But it fits him character-wise as he doesn't feel like a royalty after all!

The music did the game so so good <3 It made the emotional moments to emotional moments times 100 or more …
Your happiness at G'raha's return was so amazing!! xD And oh yes, he's a sprout! Like … a 130 year old man in the body of a young man!

And that concludes Shadowbringers, thank you so much, it was a fun ride with you!

  8. Welcome to the fray, (almost) Ascian Azem.

Eli held the two closest to him in his hands, who appeared on his Echo: Lahabrea and Igeyorhm.

And in all ATEs you can just roll over the keyboard. All keys are valid input.

  9. Things to notice… Azem matches the gods Azim and Azeyma in pronunciation, which would imply the ascian we were once was the inspiration of those gods, along with hythlodeus's description of how the 14th acted in comparison to the rest of the convocation.

Elidibus is a child, we've seen so many ascian adults now and seen how massive they are to use, on top of being confused as children ourselves, elidibus is roughly as tall as the twins or y'shtola which means he was a child when he sacrificed himself.

The last cutscene is also a showcase of the new animation engine that was implemented in 5.3 offering far better motion and dynamic scenes.

  10. In the Endwalker trailer the lyrics at the end part literally go as follows:

''As we ride again, to another End
Where it all begins, Forge ahead''

I think they are gonna do Realm Reborn 2. At least figuratively. There is this talk about the literal star fraying and I think it might be another crazy Bahamut situation where the entire world is remade anew somehow.

The story is gonna finish and we are gonna get a new engine like Unreal 5 or whatever Luminous Engine they are using for the Forpoken game.

  11. Congratulations on finishing Shadowbringers!

G'raha always had the neck tats, even back in the Crystal Tower raid. On the Crystal Exarch, that part of his neck was already covered with crystal. (Almost certainly a deliberate design choice to help mask his appearance.) They're Sharlayan Archon marks, displaying that he'd earned the equivalent of a PhD – his was in Allaghan history.

  12. Shadowbringers has been so good. I have never got so emotional over a video game. I can't wait to see what you think about The Sorrow of Werlyt quest line.

  13. 5.3 solidified FFXIV as my favorite game of all time and for me personally that spot was held by Halo 3 Odst 10 years I can tell you it took a lot to change that.

Close to the end Good luck my dude <3

  14. One of my favorite parts of the actual fight is if DPS tries to LB him when he isn't casting something he will react instantly with True Hallowed Ground.

"Clad in prayer, I am invincible!"

  15. The voice actor for the WoD, Ardbert as well as Arenvald is Joe Dempsie, whom many people know from Game of Thrones as Gendry (Baratheon).
The voice for Elidibus, is done by Matt Stokoe.

  16. Remember when lahabrea said that the shield of light must be struck down by the blade of darkness? (something to that effect before the ultima fight). It was foreshadowing this very fight.

  17. sidenote if you ever do this fight, shinryu, or the dying gasp again (like in extreme), it's much easier to keysmash for the QTE. like asdfghjklkjhgfdsa back and forth. each letter counts as a click of your mouse, so you can imagine how much easier and faster it is. :)))
