FFXIV – Storm's Crown EXTREME (EX4) – BLM POV (9,366.6 aDPS/8,931.4 rDPS)

This fight is absolutely amazing, it might be one of my favorite fights in the entire game. It’s not very difficult mechanic wise, but there are alot of new mechanics and they are used beautifully. The sword-less phases are simply batshit crazy in the movement and their quickness but they are not overwhelmingly difficult to map like Endsinger was.

The trick for this fight as a BLM is prepulling leylines. Everything goes perfectly during the 1st phase with prepull lines and saving resources for the cleave. During the cleave, you usually need one instant (though that depends on how the party behaves for spreads) but I normally swiftcast too when I know I can afford to burn it. The entanglement sections are pure hell for BLM and you better have a swiftcast or triple up, because if you get downtimed in a bad spot, you are droppping enochian. I mapped my rotation to usually Paradox-Xeno during the first entanglement as soon as the cast ends and that gives me enough time to weave a triple or a swift and then move as quickly as possible.

The 3rd lines are cursed, but there really is not much you can do. You need to put them ASAP after the 3rd aoes are baited, otherwise your timing for the following lines are gonna be messed up. Two of them come right before playstation.

This was our first clear, so there were a ton of mistakes here. I lost like 2 F4, I overcapped a Xeno, I missed an Ice Para, I did unsharped T3P at the end, my manafot usage was straight garbarge… but overall, this was a 92% run without the weapon, so eh.

  1. It's basically an increase in damage. You don't lose anything by weaving transpose with a F3P since its instant. Basically, a one stack Astral Fire F3P is way stronger than F3P in Astral Ice. You should always maximize this type of transpose when you have a F3P during ice. If you do this for a couple of times during a fight, it's actually a generous increse in damage. Just be aware of your MP ticks.
