  1. All of this that you said, and I would love to really really stress how shity the loss of the passive mp regen is. Screw this janky ass class, they have ruined it. Because if everything has gone wrong, if you messed up or a mechanic made you move, and wow your trying to recover. At the very least you could always swap to umbral ice and at least regen mp while you move so you can get things back up and running when you stop moving. But you can't even fucking do that now. This change especially is just garbage.

  2. You still have passive mp regen without without casting an ice spell it’s just slower. But guess what, if you have no target to cast an ice spell on, you can just use Umbral Soul because that counts as an ice spell.

  3. Black mage is the highest dps job. Always has been. You should use triple cast and ley lines they really add to the core rotation. They made this job much much harder by removing ice paradox, so the rotation is now rigid instead of being flexible. I kinda like that honestly. I'm not a huge fan of the thunder changes myself or the ice regen. But this is what happened and you just have to accept it as a new challenge be the king of damage with what you've got. I'll bet the gurus will be getting the job nerfed in no time.

  4. Your only two tools now are fire paradox and fireproc granted by paradox. Ideally, you would want keep fireproc into next ice phase for transpose+fireIII, but much more likelly, you'll have to use it to extend your second part of fire rotation. Unless you get window where you can just stand and cast, but thats not that common in DT.
    If you do use convert, then you can use fireproc for extending after your first part of rotation, where would paradox normally go(would be loss of fireproc if you didnt), then use fire paradox towards the end that extends your fire phase and grant you another fireproc into ice phase that has more comfortable duration.
    Generally speaking, tripplecast is best used for end of your rotation to cover those long cast(despair, flare star), with either first fire 4 hardcasted, then tripplecast and swiftcast two f4s, despair flare star, or two fire 4s hardcasted if your swiftcast is on cooldown. Generally speaking….in reality you are often forced to use tripplecast on movement as you cannot afford to skip anything or wait with cast even second, or you get into troubles. And then you get into troubles easilly if something else interrupts you and now you dont have tripplecast to compensate.
    Instead of stupid third polygot that does nothing for you, they should give blm third charge of tripplecast. That would make life much, much easier for blm at current state. Or, give Convert "grants tripplecast charge" at least. Honestly both would be great.

  5. They need to remove astral and umbral timers. With movement, how it is now, I don't understand how Black Mages deal with current mechanics. They also need to hit harder.
