FFXIV players suck

In this video I tell you why all FFXIV players suck.

Gotchya

In fact in this video I talk about how if taking any criticism of a game you like or hearing an alternate point of view about it makes you rage like a small child, then maybe this can help you.

  1. XIV's community has become fucking atrocious over the last few years. There was a time where you could actually have a conversation, but those days are long gone.

  2. All good points. While my reasons for leaving XIV are likely different than yours, I would have to further the thought that the community for it enjoys their bubble. Don't touch the bubble in any way…to each their own I suppose. It's their life to lead how they wish.

  3. there are a lot of flaws in the game. even on “casual” content. take housing eg. it’s in such a bad state that there is no fixing beyond some radical steps. but ffxiv is special in a way that Yoshi P has been able to give the game a face. the way you see how he is emotionally invested in the game resonates with people to such an extent that they feel personally attacked by criticism. it’s funny though b/c imho Yoshi P listens to constructive criticism but as you mentioned there’s only so much he can do. the game has a lot of dead ends they have maneuvered themselves into and it’s their task for the next years to find ways out of it

  4. They are all facts. I think its crazy how people are saying there are so many jobs and this game has so much content, all thats changed about the game since 2014 besides QoL, fluff content, and as said, the jobs have become homogenized. Limsa and Uldah (Balmung) are populated because people are just paying 15 a month to chat. Endgame is fluff showcasing because there is nothing to do endgame. Island sanctuary took up a whole patch to give players another form of NPC side questing and a place to "relax" cause thier houses and Limsa just aren't enough. Dungeons take 10+ minutes because everyone has gotten the minions and glamour already, there is no personal growth to strive for, no effort needed to gain anything. No reason to care.

  5. I just wish i could fucking log on. They need to fix their damn servers so they hold more people or give the rpers there own damn server and strictly enforce that they go there. As it is, me and my daughter and brother could not play a couple of months ago because when I could log on, they could not because they either had a huge queue or they could not even make a character. Meanwhile, there were tons of people doing absolutely nothing but roleplaying with bunny senpai and cat girl. My brother and daughter got so fed up they said f it and quit. Yea, if you want to roleplay fine but, there are people who actually want to play the fucking game and can't. So rpers that only want to do ONE thing in the game, should not take precedent over people who want to play ALL of the game.

  6. I love being the bearer of bad news. Our society needs more people willing to be bearers of bad news. It builds character and weeds out the soy.

In other bad news, General Winter will soon march upon Europe. Absolute Russian victory is inevitable. The USA will NOT be spared. Prepare to freeze and starve.

P.S. The USA and the UK blew up Nordstream, and Epstein didn't kill himself.

  7. thanks for (as you always do) taking a stand against the church of yoshi p. the only thing that could save ff14 is if the players start complaining vocally, though the western audience was never listened to much when it comes to ff14.

i think ff14 is beyond salvation, though. square enix is more interested in making excuses than in investing more into ff14's infrastructure and future. WoW has had tons of makeovers and changes to its underlying code. ff14 could do the same. all the recent changes have been simplifying classes and content so that new players continue to try out the game without getting lost in the complexity. they're focusing on the single player aspect because they expect the game to die as an MMO. they don't want a "world of warcraft", they want to move on.

also when i first found your channel years ago i thought it was goofy that you named yourself after a cool character from a good series, but now it's cool. appreciators of the late 90s MMOs are harder to come by these days…

  8. I think you seriously need to just ignore those trolls that take the effort irritate you else you will be stucked in this endless cycle. This is their goal and life. Also for negativity, it is based on your popularity. You were more or less a known creator for FF14 and less so a WoW creator thus you may encounter negativity on FF14. Your video views/stats proves this. Preachgaming, got shit on so much after he claims he stop WoW and yet still reporting on it. Even Quazii gets the negativity from WoW community. Both games have negativity is what i'm trying to relay my point across.

  9. I’ve been thinking a lot about what you said in this video and the other one on the healer issue, Raziel and I think the game is in a challenging position, because there are three dead ends:
    (1) the homogenization of the classes you have pointed out (even as a casual gamer it sucks, when you die as the only healer in a lvl 90 boss fight and no one really cares, since healing is not needed if you play mechanics right. the fight just lasts longer b/c of the dps lacking. I never felt so useless as a healer main)
    (2) housing. it’s theoretically a great way to keep ppl in the game, but the system is broken in two ways: the auto-demo is off, therefore the lottery system doesn’t work. the ppl don’t get a plot, let alone the plot of their dreams. the chances are infinitesimal low (read non existent). when you have a house you need to learn to glitch furniture in order to get a decent interior design or just pay another player who can do that for you. the simple reason is b/c you cannot place the items wherever
    (3) the natural end of our storyline as a hero. the hero’s journey is a universal concept of storytelling that consists of 12 stages a hero has to go through in order to conclude his journey (if interested google Joseph Campbell’s “the hero’s journey”). we’re IG clearly at the end of the journey, so what comes next? Guild Wars choose the solution to make a jump 250 years in the future and have the players restart with a new hero. SE denied that. they specifically said they want to continue the next 10 years.
so, yes, I totally understand why ppl are leaving ffxiv and I’m very curious to see how the dev team wants to overcome these fundamental challenges. it has not be nothing short of a complete reset imho.

  10. I fully agree on the dps thing the fact healers and tank must dps so much is simple wrong . I think your view on gearing and raiding however isnt fact but a opinion and ffxiv stated they dont want gear to matter to much the game is meant to be easy to get into so adding more stuff might turn ppl off.i think you issue is eith raiding and while it might be a valid complained raids is in all mmo rarely done by more thrn 15% of the playerbase so it not something most ppl care about .While i agree critic is good ppl need to stop bitching 24/7 there is fine line like ppl who look at videos to get angry it the same with critics yes it help the game but ever new content se does ppl find something to bitch about it would piss me of as dev to see everbody find tiny flaws in everthing and thinking nitpicking stuff is valid critic, dont get me wrong big flaws exist in ffxiv in many parts .

  11. I have a question. I hear many people complain "No heal checks" or "healing is just dps" but the latest savage is made heavy difficult for healers. Where we DPS must discuss on PF every single reclear who put what where on CD so it do not overlap through the entiry fight. Healers also sweated a lot more, and many become more scared try 'sub job as healer' unless practice. Which many friends who main healers I have said "this has become very satisfying once clear!" I play on the japanese data center and I know mitigations off CD among DPS is not popular in NA (I do not know about EU)…. so it is harder for the healers there. But what I also know is every fight has certain % healers, tanks, DPS must fulfill and comply in order to complete and clear DPS check, which I believed shadowbringer was Healers 12% and tank 18%? I could be wrong, please correct me if I am forgotten the % accurate!! Knowing this, we do not ask much of PF "use latest rice and medicine"…… we always make it even if 1 DPS die on second half (at the time of commenting: p8s)… Then to my shock I see videos saying "FF14 only has one job, dps. Healers do not have healing check, they must DPS as much possible but SE makes difficult" so I have become confused and think I am missing something information I do not know what the players are speaking about. All I can say in our community we often say, healers only DPS when downtown, but when gimmicks happen, for example, when P8S phase 2, you start off with "natural allignment" once it starts, no healer will cast any damage until the entirity is done, or else one of the DPS may lack a heal. But such as 'assize', there is some damage ingrain into the heals. When time moves on and the healers become BIS, they can start to become more comfortable, but that is why in PF we also discuss burst: either after the final natural allignment 2 or after the movie finished. We often leave these options up to the healers. We also let the healers handle when they use feo or temperance for example. Despite I have sub character on america data center to raid also, I feel I am missing information what many players are feeling is bad feeling/complain lightly/wish to change. no matter how many video I watch about it, I do not understand why all jobs is "dps focus" or why "dps only matter" . For a while I thought "maybe the players focus too much about DPS becaue they can paint their burst on the website they use??" but I am feeling like it is more and I cannot understand, if somebody can kindly explain better, I do appreciate (please no hate reply)

  12. I agree about with what you said about the game design of the game. But I disagree with the "character building" about wanting an attribute system. Anytime a game has a system like that, someone will find a powerful build, it will become meta and then everyone will do the same build and if you don't I am 100% convinced raid parties will demand those builds or they won't let people join them. I wish they would make jobs diverse, be creative with the arenas, but putting an attribute system would be pointless, it will just waste peoples time by making them research their jobs optimal build.

  13. While I still love playing the game even tho I'm not playing daily, and I do agree to some of your opinions, believe me when I say that there are ALOT of ppl that think the the very same about the playerbase. However, while I'm supposing that some ppl are aware of that, I believe most ff14 players that are gung-o on bashing ppl's lives when they see a negative opinion on the game aren't doing that just because they are emotionnaly attached to it, but also too emotionnaly invested to the point they feel their commitment invalidated by every opinions that confront theirs.

  14. The moment they changed the Astrologian card system was the day I realized this game wasn't meant for me anymore, which is a shame since the Astrologian old card system was one of the most fun I've ever had in a mmo ever. Rewarded for actually be dedicated to a job and learning what each card does individually was a fun experience, it atleast felt like it mattered. There was always a use for every card, but since all seems to have change into "damage damage damage" They changed it to the homogenized mess it is now.
Glad I stopped when I did.

  15. Valid points. Although in Reality i much prefer the creepy/cringe but overall good behavour in game in FF14 rather the constant toxicity I was experienced in WoW pretty much every day for various reasons. my Bf play WoW again and everyday there are toxic incidents people leaving keys with just a tiny error or because they took different route. In ff14 i have noticed that the good behavour police often without a big reason become alot more toxic in order to to protect the game for a potential toxic behavour and they became really toxic themself. Groupies and fanatics are everywhere and will overprotect their game when they can, WoW players not that much because they are so selfish that don;t give a shit or get arsed to go and argue and protect the game since themself whine about the game all the time,so instead of trying to defend it they agree and add up themself to the shade! as an ex-semi hardcore pve player now i am totally casual (although playing all day) I much prefer the things i can and i have to do in FF14 after a year+ It feels really nice. on Top tier I hear they are as much toxic as WoW and other games so i dont bother with that kind of content anyways and just having fun with the alternative casual other ways to enjoy the game. the variety in ff14 is huge, while in wow there is nothing else than cap lvl mythic+and raids..

  16. Too true man!
I think alot of the negativity and tribalism comes from those "kids who flood the internet." they are the loudest on the internet kinda like how my todder is the loudest in the house. Adult gamers enjoy games for what it is and voice their opinions when it matters. adults have more things to worry about than to squabble over pettiness.

  17. Amazing I found the one guy it took 6 months but I found him. The person who gave ff14 a chance and played all the thur and did endgame stuff. Then tried world of warcraft and ended up liking world of warcraft better. I say as somebody who has watched 45 of these "I quit wow for ff14 and it's amazing videos" first time hearing the other way around from somebody who isn't a jaded wow person.
