Luckily FFXIV is a game where folks can take breaks! In fact, I'm on an (involuntary) hiatus from it til patch 6.3 in January, until I can get my finances stabilized again. I miss it, sure, but I know I'll be more excited once the patch hits! Sometimes, a break is wonderful. And WoW just so happens to be a good place for that break for many people right now. Nothing to be worried about, at least I don't think. People can have fun in other games and return to FFXIV (if they want) it'll always be there!
LOL WoW players being nice after playing XIV. They're like rehabilitated. jk Anyway, a lot of XIV folks used to play WoW too so they would definitely check the new expansion out. Come January, I'm sure people will be back for 6.3. or if they get tired of Dragonflight. If DF turns out great then that's well and good too. People can play whatever they want to play. They can drop off from MMOs altogether. The funny thing is, content creators were just jebaiting viewers about 'quitting' it's like trolling those creators that seriously quit and caused drama. Views are views.
There is no real content creator exit. There was just Ginger Primes horrible quitting video trying to draw attention. Then we had Larryzaur tell us he is stopping to make FF14 content regularly to pursue other goals… but he hasn't actually quit FF14 itself. We had more great "I'm QUITTING GUYS!" Parody videos after than actual people quitting.
I mean it makes sense. FFXIV was made in a way that allows players to take breaks between content. Currently there's a lull in content while WoW had a few recent updates and has (supposedly) righted some of its wrongs. I have a good friend who has FFXIV as her main mmo, but is now currently playing WoW on the side since there isn't alot of new content right now in FFXIV. Seeing as Yoshi-P himself encourages this, I see no problems here.
As for me, I'm just happily doing dailies here and there in FFXIV, powering up some of my alt classes, slowly gathering my tomestome weapons (Not much of a raider myself), and am quite happy with that. Also playing other games too, like Warframe, Vermintide 2, and Deep Rock Galactic with friends along with some single player games I've had on the backburner.
This is why FFXIV is my favorite mmo. I don't feel pressured to transform it into a chore. I can play for a bit, set it down, let my sub lapse for a month if I wish, then hop back in and not feel completely left in the dust.
WoW is still a hard pass for me the community is awful. and I don't want to play a game that try's to rope me in and take all of my time chasing pitiful breadcrumbs
I take soft breaks from FFXIV where I just work through my single player backlog. Its nice because I don't really lose anything by doing it and don't feel like I need to catch up when I return. This is the way it should be games are for leisure not a second or third job. I wish any XIV players to have a good time at their azeroth vacation be seeing most of you in 6.3 and a few of you later
Wow has brief honeymoon periods and then people realize "oh it's wow" and go back to FFXIV or whatever game they play. The problem with WoW is that it has such an easy potential to be great but is managed so poorly.
Well i played the original WOW back in 2005 at my friends house for 6 months on his ALT and thought that its the best game ever, then tried it again in 2014 myself on my pc and i think i played it for about a month until i just stopped since other games took all of my spare time, then in 2018 my friend linked me asmongolds twitch stream and it was fun listening to him trashtalk WOW and also learn a ton of WOW history on how it transformed, so in 2020-2021 when asmon decided to try ff14 i jumped right in to ff14 as well and has been playing it non-stop ever since, so if anything i dont think im ever gonna even try WOW again, since im so invested in ff14 right now but as Glavian said, even i have noticed a sudden disappearance of ton of players.
just a poor choice of words, with "Quitting". taking a break is super fuckin common, Zepla aint abandoning FF, (this is just an example) she knows whats going to make her some good money and hell she needs it. Surviving the last 3 years for her has a been a test of her mettle.
And the good thing about this isssss that nobody cares lol been playing god of war Ragnarok and pokemon scarlet. Not going back to FFXIV until next patch, got everything maxed out
FFXIV is a breathing mmo. It does a massive inhale of players in x.5 through x.0 then a massive exhale of players in x.1 through x.2 then another inhale on x.3 then an exhale on x.4 then the cycle starts anew.
subscribe for an invite to my party

Very well said as usual!
I live in Eorzea full time! I won't ever go back for another ride on the Azeroth merry-go-round.
FFXIV players always check out other games. Yoshi-P even encourages it.
When new content is released, they come back. Nobody feels anchored to the game (unless you own a house😂).
Lol, that sounded like my comment on your other video.

Is a money thing they use FFXIV to scape the many problems the company has but now that no one is talking about it all are going back.
I saw on the launcher today that 14 is actually having a 4 day free log in this weekend. lol
Based take as usual

Oh hell no. I’d never play WoW because it looks extremely cheesy and cartoony.
