  1. If anyone needs me, I'll be standing over here next to the life boat. I really think the time to abandon the FFXIV ship is rapidly approaching. I expect we'll soon see a big uptick in Mogstation exclusive items and services.

  2. Gross. I loathe this trend of endlessly greedy mobile games that don't respect their customers and just want to juice them, trying to turn them into spending addicts. Don't just get that SSS Y'shtola, get her six times if your want her whole kit. No.

  3. MMOs don't make much money in China anymore with the new laws limiting playtime for non adults. They have to pivot to selling stuff which is acceptable in China. Not SE's fault China's gaming laws flip on a coin depending on how much Xi feels like a boomer today.

  4. Some doomsaying going on. Yoshi P hasn’t steered us wrong in 10 years.

Personally, I don’t see the appeal of a mobile MMO. Mobile games don’t really vibe with me when it comes to hours of play. I’m sure it’ll just be some kind of spin off like you said, but I wouldn’t mind being able to do some gathering while I’m away from my computer. But, I guess I could just get a steam deck

  5. Just going to add that the ceo is insane for saying people want a service based game. No we want to pay for the game and not have to pay in order to play the game that we just bought full price+ all the extra story dlc expansions.
If you really think about it its all cash grabbing.

  6. Ya gotta remember that Mihoyo was a small indie that grew to midsized indie in the span of 8 years or so. The period where SE was faffing around chasing AAA. The reason why they're so successful is because they were at the time first and foremost making nerd things for nerds.

  7. They litterally could use the existing data and skins of FF Record Keeper and make It into brand new Ff14 mobile game. I Remember that game was great, with a "party finder" mode to fight against bosses and cool animations. But then they have remove party mode making It into fully PvE. Sure It had a lot of problems due being extremely old runned system. So After i think 7 years they closed the servers.

  8. That mobile game will probably be a completly diffrent gerne, and only realy use the apearence/names of some of the scions and other characters the msq only players will recognise.
