  1. All these issues about billing go back all the way to ff11 time. Especially when you brought the US version of the game, as here isn't a way to change the region at all when you don't have a US address. Which is lame.

Well, maybe they will start realising a drop of subscription payment. After this lousy planning on their part.

  2. I set mine on auto-pay and for now it’s been cake. I know not everyone can do this, but even when I didn’t have a steady income, I always made sure I had $25 minimum in my account. I pretend it doesn’t exist. $25 was my $0.

  3. Just to let you know, the Crysta workaround also lets you purchase stuff off the mog station. I've been doing that for years, because for whatever reason they don't just let you use Paypal directly.

  4. If this works for anyone, try to talk with a friend and try their address… Since the update my mexican address doesn't work anymore… But a colombian friend's actually work… And yeah… Colombia HE'S IN COLOMBIA and for some reason adding his address and paying from there actually worked so I'm Colombian now (?)

I know it's an annoying workaround, but hey! It works!

  5. As someone that recently prepurchased the expansion on steam and had to jump through the Square Enix hoops of getting that added to the account, it's astonishing while most games push monetization as far as they can and test the boundaries & patience of people, FF XIV is adamant about not updating it's really old and poor systems to be more user friendly to allow people to give them money….

And i also have that region mismatch problem, forturnetly I still have my old bank card from before i moved abroad i can transfer money over to when i need to buy more game time. But it's bothersome that i live in Japan but because my account says Europe I can't take part in any local events or rewards, or buy prepaid gametime cards because all of those things are region locked so the codes will be invalid if i try to redeem them.

  6. This is the one time I'm actually happy that I bought the Steam version once I started in Heavensward.
Back then my country was not on the list, so I just set it to UK – probably would not be able to use my card for payments, but Steam Wallet works perfectly.

I even tried to change my country couple years ago when it finally appeared on the list, but support told it's currently not possible.

  7. I've never heard of any other game in the world that has so much trouble taking money from players. Which is extra wild considering how the game is made to keep you playing month to month extracting as much money as possible.

  8. This isn't even the first time they have done this exact sort of thing. Long ago in FF11 they decided you needed "verified by visa" for visa payment in ff11. If you have no idea what that is, this was a service that visa technically supported, but basically didn't roll out in North America. Like where i found it to get it working went from the normal visa site to like white background html page, you would swear it was a scam if you hadn't come from a legit website first. And lots of people literally couldn't get it working because their bank was like "what are you talking about?" — and had to use crysta. Sounds familiar.

  9. when i moved from Canada to the US there was no way for me to change my address on my paypal account, they just told me to open a new one. So if this is something paypal can't even handle it makes me worried for SE figuring it out. Which would be complete bullshit, it's completely unacceptable to force old players to rebuy the game and lose years of progress.

  10. As a player of this game for 7 months now i know that ff 14 withdrawal is a real thing so i make sure i have enough for the sub each month but its insulting that square enix make it so complicated for us to simply pay our subs and they need to allow more simpler ways to pay like why can't i pay using my PlayStation wallet funds

  11. As much as i love SE, i hate corpos in general. They're always changing shit cuz someone has to make a dollar. If it's not broken dont fucking change it. If it works, dont fucking change it.

  12. Why is this game so hard to pay for? When I use my card, FFXIV is the ONLY thing that forces my bank to send a security code to me. It ends up making a 1 minute process into one that takes longer. This wouldn't be a problem if we could use PayPal, but SE doesn't allow anybody to use it for sub time (last I checked).

  14. While im glad they finally said something about this but its kind of dumb that it to from apirl 23rd to may 1st to even say anything about it at this point something i could suggest if it was me at square or Microsoft since i play ff14 on xbox tie the one month sub to the 1 month game pass ether temporary till this is resolved or permanently and for the other consoles as well for that 2nd option cause that just insane they had let it go on this long before saying anything

  15. I’m an NA player and my sub is due tomorrow. I only have Visa but I have a PayPal account. My address has not changed in about a decade: all the information is the same. If I wake up tomorrow and I can’t play, I will quit.

  16. Still not fixed. No Visa, no Mastercard. After all this time, shows SE doesnt care. I lost all trust in them. 10 years and thousands of dollars later, its over. Goodbye my lovely friends i called family. Sqaenix,i curse you to no end !
