What’s up guys! So this is a quick guide on how to complete the FFXIV lvl 68 fishing quest: Always a Bigger Fish.
I wish I had recorded this when I was doing it so apologies it’s not quite in the moment but I hope I explained enough so that if you’re experiencing this after patch 6.15 it’s easy enough to get done.
Fishing quests can be a little vague so I’ll do my best to do more of these if you’d like!

If anyone is watching this and is frustrated, once you catch enough Ichthyosaurs, you gotta use Truth of Ocean (lvl 65) skill. i was frustrated as heck

Thank you so much for this guide!!! Yours is the only one I found with the map of where to fish. I spent hours at the wrong location. Very helpful!
After catch the big fish (Ichthyosaur) x7 and getting the special spawn location, the dafangshi fish a small medium-sized fish.
This threw me off because I was expecting big fish since I needed big fish to spawn the special spot.
I had to catch the big fish 7 more times to get a new special spawn to get my dafangshi x3.
I ended up with 4 and I can't help anyone out by selling off the extra one.

You missed out the key information that you need Truth of Ocean active, could waste some peoples time without that.
