We’re back with our next final fantasy xiv guide! We’re going to be examining and explaining the collectable & scrip system found in the game, including how to go about unlocking it for your gathering or crafting jobs!
The collectable system was release in heavensward and have become a staple of both DOH and DOL jobs since then, it provides you with a method for leveling these jobs as well as gaining scrip tokens which can be used to buy various items ranging from crafting gear, materials all the way to mounts and hairstyles!
We’ll also touch on the Ishgardian Restoration segment of the system in this guide as well! As always if you do have any questions about collectables at please let me know in the comments bellow and i’ll get back to you as soon as I am able!

New to the collectables scene. What do you do with items that when you check them for recipes using that item and it says there are none? For instance Shishu Koban, Starcrack Sand, or Rainbow Pigment, I have picked up items like that just to unlock it, but otherwise it seems useless to pick them up because you can't turn them in or craft with them from what I've seen.

Thanks, really nice intro! I'm wondering what we do with our leftover collectibles that the appraiser does not take? Since we can't sell them in the market, they just sit and take up inventory space.
