I started arranging this song a couple days ago and worked double-time because I was feeling super inspired by the music. I love the somewhat strange tuning of 6-C, 5-G I used for this. I really enjoyed working on this and I felt a real connection with the music. I hope y’all like it just as much as I do.

Oh man. I never delved super deep into the world of open tunings but it would not have occurred to me that you could find an open tuning that lets you play the song entirely on natural harmonics. 🤯

I’m really enjoying all of your FFXIV arrangements. I’m planning on checking out more, but this is what I’m connecting most with now.
My best friend was a guitarist, and had studied classical guitar when we were in music school together. They passed away just months before endwalker was released. They’re who I started playing xiv with around 5.2 in shadowbringers – they had played it in Heavensward with their partner, who passed away two years ago.
I think they would absolutely love this, and your other arrangements/performances. We used to work at a cafe together, and we listened to the Frantz Casseus Haitian suite along with his whole library of works very often those days. We would also get together to play John Dowland lute songs together, with me playing my bassoon. Probably my favorite instance of us playing together, though, was the Bachianas Brasileiras No. 5 on my last recital.
Anyways, I wanted to share this to show some of the depth of my appreciation for your work. I know it is quite personal and sad, but seriously, bravo.
