Final Fantasy XIV Icon CHANGED Because It Had TOO MANY HOLES?!

Square Enix has changed an icon for an upcoming job in Final Fantasy XIV because of ‘trypophobia’ — a fear of tiny holes. No, seriously, they did. And they made a big, long-winded statement about it. Then we talk about FF14 vs. World of Warcraft. Guest starring SquidKing.

  1. Kneon you really should name the Reef Community! I love your character drawings you really should make a comic or animated show starring Bubbly Steve, Geeky, Squid King, and yourself along with whatever other characters you have! The Adventures of Bubbly Steve or something like that… Clownfish is officially kicking @$$ and chewing bubble gum and it looks like they're completely out of bubble gum!

  2. OK… I think they did the right thing but did it in the wrong way.

Hear me out. If the logo might make some customers subconsciously averse to buying the game, then altering the logo would lead to higher profits. That's it. No need to "apologize" for "being insensitive" or whatnot. Just business.

  3. This shouldn't be addressed, it's too small of an issue, people with actual trypophobia (I don't even think this is a real phobia, they just find it disgusting) just shouldn't play the game. So next we can't have any spiders due to arachnophobia , flying due to aerophobia, mountains cause of acrophobia and DUNGEONS cause of claustrophobia. All those are way waaaaaay more common than trypophobia. This is just ridiculous and stupid.

  4. As someone who played WoW for 6 years I have every right to say fack WoW and FACK BLIZZARD.
Hear me now and believe me later, Yoshi P. That could be you someday as well.
    Learn from their mistakes.

  5. My cynical mind tells me this is Square Enix looking at what's happening at Blizzard, and going out of their way to be the opposite in hopes of keeping the current ridiculous player influx coming.

  6. This video is kinda.. lazy? It's not just "holes are scary". This is an actual thing if you look it up. I actually dare you to look at images related to it. Please don't make videos on 14 just because it's growing. It's cringy.

  7. The could just change the "holes" to plus signs like a cross to more resemble the medical cross. But I think the "holes" are sparkle shape so these people might be overreacting.

  8. Ok half way into this vid and I can see that this is pointless, if the NA servers complained about it, maybe we would make fun of it, but it was the JP servers and last i checked (and from a lot of your videos) JP doesnt pull that western bs…so WHAT IS THE ISSUE? It wasnt even officially released yet

  9. I think it's perfectly reasonable and a doable change. The expansion is still in development. It's one icon.
This is also refreshing to see in light of recent events in the West where companies ignore the pleas of the fanbase (He-man, Star Wars, Comics, etc)
YoshiP does not take playerbase input lightly (no matter how bullshit some demands may seem to some). These people stuck with FF14 when the whole world made fun of the game during the shitshow that was 1.0.
