Does anyone else miss leveling a job from LV1? Just starting out outside of a main city and clearing low-level mobs, progressing through your hunt log, being queued into the 1-49 dungeons.
I get why most players would hate "getting their time" wasted for new jobs, but it's definitely an unique experience that you can't go back to once you clear all starting jobs.
P.s. I don't consider alts to fulfill the same niche, as I don't get the feeling of "going back" that I do when I use my "main". I also can't easily craft goodies for my low-level job
I JUST FINISHED GETTING MONK TO 60… Oh my god I wish this had been available earlier.
The ring makes good glam though, esp. if you've already maxed every class
Oh heyyy something IV been suggesting for a while now
Id kinda like to see a UI menu that lets you pick XY or Z core mechanic and gives you a scripted out example of it. The core stuff not the bespoke unique ones we should learn that kn the fly more.
That was so much needed looking forward to testing it out for different jobs
Earring, plus both rings if you get a sub 30 dungeon is gonna mean a lot of exp
Wait is this the ring from shadowbringers??? Lmao its the one the merchant at the start was wearing before he got eaten
Does this stack with the bonus from the other hall of novice exp bonus reward item? Or am I misremembering the HoN previous reward?
I kinda hope this being in the game means that normal mode stuff will have more difficult mechanics than just knowing where the aoe will be
It's the merchants ring from the beginning of SHB
good for novices and alt jobs/characters. i feel they could add more with expert/extreme mechs in it as practice, like without the teaching protion but to introduce flow into the tutorials. they could also add in target dummies while you are dodging these mechanics so your fighting and moving as i feel having practice in a solo environment is good for all types of players. something else which could be useful is job specific rotation guides based at each level to max. it would be alot more work for square but i think it would go along way for players to be eased into the dificult stuff and if they have practice with everything, it will also reduce anxiety in dungeons or trials. this is a great start tho
This is really great! I hope there will be further updates to it. Nice to see the combination of mechanics as realistically this is how people will see them happening not just one on their own. But I agree I would make it mandatory on your first character reaching this lvl on the account, so everyone would have to do them once.
If you still have a Lv1 class and you use this, the Brand-new ring and any of the XP boost earrings, all of that is gonna stack.
I wish this would have been active when I started playing the game. It would have saved every group I was in time, from me asking how to do mechanics because I was new to game.
This is going to sound silly, but I kind of don't like this. It feels like it holds your hand TOO much. This is the 'Hall of the Novice…' And if some random Joe Schmoe combat trainer is teaching the kind of mechanics you're going to be seeing out of Nidhogg and the like later on down the road, that makes your fights against said threats feel much less impactful. Like, yeah, you just took out a nation-ending threat…. using the same tactics taught to basic recruits.
I know, it's dumb, but it feels like it makes your accomplishments feel just that much more mundane.
I LOVE THIS! I'm hoping people actually utilize it, and it lessens the pain of teaching new players this who may have snuck into extreme or savage content.
I want that outfit!
thats a nice ring but my main character has no jobs below Lv 80.
Wish I had known this was coming before I spent all day Saturday leveling Astrologian.
Will this new exp ring stack with the Brand New Ring exp bonus?
so it does not give you brand new set anymore shame that gear was great gear to use till you got artifact armor
So glad they're adding this
Hope they expand it more because as a sprout the worst part of this game is having to learn mechanics based on trial and error or relying on mentors to actually explain things
This system of having the information in game is SO much better
I desperately needed this. Im in stormblood i still have no idea what some of these are
This is a MUCH needed update. AMAZING – thanks for showing it off!
Bardam's Mettle, the super cut! The Hall of the Novice duty list was menu accessible for ages already, the tab got a green spot as a sign of new content. Definetly would've liked to see all variations of all mechanics included in the tutorial but I'm glad to have this anyway. Wouldn't even mind an 'endless mode' that includes all the categories, a new GATE perchance? The ring looks like a new version of the Brand-New / Aetherite ring, a blue crystal blob that it is. A new player or a level-skipper won't be tardy in the 1-60 phase now, what with the exp earrings and the already existing 1-30 Brand-New ring from the basic training. I'm fairly certain I had done all of those previously with my main too but was missing some tank ones as well, oh well.
Glad people like it, although I still think it should be mandatory. definitely doing it later.
oh my god combine this with the xp ring from the basic trials and you get a ridiculous level of boost from 1-30. and that's before you add any preorder earrings you might have. holy shit. this is incredible
As a new player (maybe a month in?) this is literal gold to me. I've been relying on a few friends or just randoms to explain dungeon mechanics. So many people are so helpful, but I'm so excited now to actually get to better understand these mechanics. This is especially nice because sometimes I've been told conflicting information on what stuff does exactly
I wish the movement markers/follower AoE's were more consistent. A lot feel like you can't wait for the aoe to appear, you have to take distance right away or it will catch you multiple times
The exercises are not identical. I did Tank and DPS, and the tank addresses tank busters, for example, that DPS does not, but DPS does address pushback.
I'm pretty sure the old HoN gave out a ring that boost XP to level 25
We could get more, but they to busy giving us a raid no one really asked for
Im using it so I can get use to what it looks like on my steamdeck so I can be a better player on my deck
I agree, it would be cool if these drills went further, it'd give me more confidence to try savage and ultimate content.
I wonder if the ring stacks with expansion earrings
The only issue with this as I tried it out with an alt that's about 40% through ARR, but it's locked until "progressing deeper into the main scenario". When will that be? It would certainly be useful to have that ring as early as you can in the game…
