  1. It's wholesome that Yoshi-P feels the need to apologize for something completely out of his control.โค The semiconductor shortage is a global issue, but I appreciate how candid he and the devs are on this issue. God knows a lot of other games' devs could learn a thing or two from the XIV team.

  2. Well said, NA doesn't even need server expansion right now… There's not even queues and PF is empty anyways. I know we're at the end of a patch cycle, but still… As long as they get it done before 7.0 comes out, it will be fine–especially if Data Center travel keeps working.

  3. I don't feel bad about delays. I prefer they nail it the first time than have to go back and redo things, or have things half assed. The fact they not only canceled sales, but also gave free time to the existing players was very nice to me. It was a rough start to a great expansion, but the datacenter travel is working nicely. I don't think we'll be getting another huge influx of players, but it will be nice seeing what happens next. I think this next expansion is going to sort of lull us into a false sense of security – I think we'll be exploring, searching things out, really adventuring – before they start dropping richer story threads to bind us and start that "wow" factor. Along the way I just want to see some good characters and fun places to go. And more Tataru and Hildibrand.

  4. Hopefully 6.2 wonโ€™t bring queues that are that clogged. The delay is unfortunate but completely understandable since, as they explained, itโ€™s basically out of the dev teamโ€™s capacity to affect it. Though maybe this could give some ammo for Creative Business Unit 3 and any others in SE, to argue against the executives trying to have SE get any further into NFTs.

  5. I donโ€™t think NA needs more servers.. itโ€™s just going to cause thinning out of the population from the existing servers as people migrate to the new ones in hopes of getting a house.

  6. They will definitely have all of this long settled by the time 7.0 releases, which is when this matters most. EW launch was pretty insane, but we should be back to the usual experience for the next one with these server expansions.

  7. Yeah the semi-conductor issue isn't just on their end, its global. Mostly due to ongoing conflicts and a certain country making production nations nervous. That said though it's really endearing to Yoshi P to be this forthcoming and apologetic. It shows he has humility and a great deal of good character. Take as much time as you need Yoshida-san, we don't mind waiting.๐Ÿฅฐ๐Ÿฅฐ๐Ÿฅฐ

  8. The data expansion is definitely meant for their long term plans of the game. With their vision for 7.0+, definitely see some gamers trying out the game. Server delay of a couple months is no biggie

  9. I was really looking forward transferring to a new world, so this is fairly disappointing. I don't blame SE, but it's still unfortunate.

Thanks for your very fast news coverage, as always. I often see your videos before seeing the news anywhere else.

  10. The Team apologizing for a DELAY is perfectly fine, because a delay sounds more like they have already secured the equipment, or at least have paid for the equipment, and all they're waiting for now is for it to be delivered. This is much better than struggling to actually find the hardware equipment, and as mentioned congestion currently isn't much of an issue so a 3month delay won't cause any problems.

  11. Theyve been trying to get server upgrades for 2-3 years. They wanted to do the upgrades in the year before EW and had it planned and arranged since 2 years before that but just nothing was available. No delivery could be made to them.

  12. while it's definitely a bummer since i was looking forward to move to a new server to see how the experience is with exp boost, "empty" marketplace, queues, etc.; it's not a huge deal and i hope the issues are resolved soon and well! 6.2 is still mega hype and August is gonna be a huge month.

  13. This is a good step for NA server. WoW players are going to flock back to WoW with their new expansion, so expansion isn't wise. It's not like the server is overloaded anymore. So just let them be for a while and see who remains.

  14. The upside is that the people who took their free transfer (along with their severance gil packages that came with those transfers) to those shiny new EU servers will be able to make those free transfers to those new NA servers if they so wished.

  15. I only (YES ONLY) play FFXIV – but I realy, realy love how open the devยดs are, even with "bad news". I feel sorry for our NA-friends but we see you and soon….soon these months are over. HUGS ๐Ÿค—

  16. @Quazii I think this video has below average views because it was released at 1 AM EST. Seems like the worst time if you have to pick and choose. Not sure it's fully to blame ofc

  17. This doesn't affect me since I play on the EU servers, and we recently got 4 new servers, 2 on Light & 2 on Chaos.
But overall I think this is good news, and I'm glad to see that they're on the right track.

  18. No pressing need for NA expansion at present; the queues are entirely reasonable, even during peak hours (scarcely have to wait more than a few minutes). As you said if it's for the next expansion pack then they certainly can afford to wait. I think they just want to get it done as soon as possible because they're sensible people who understand that when you see a problem you don't wait until the last minute to solve it.

That being said, Quazi, when people tell me to not worry, I start to worry. You told me not to worry thus now I'm concerned. Thanks a bunch! ๐Ÿ˜› ๐Ÿ˜‰

  19. Meh, it's fine. We don't have 11,000 login queues anymore. New World made the mistake of adding too many worlds at once in a panic, and once the population settled down it was stuck with hundreds of dead servers that had to be merged.

It's not new servers they need, it's an overflow shard system, similar to what Guild Wars 2 used to have, a system that let you play on a temporary server while in queue on your home server. It sucks not being able to chat with your FC, but at least you're playing the game, and also you're probably doing the MSQ at expansion launch so it's only a problem for dungeons and trials.

  20. Well we don't really need expansion at this time when the queue is low. The queue only bad during big patch and big launch anyway and only for a few weeks, it might be a lot of wasted money to expand mostly empty servers for most of the year.
