  1. It looked and sounded amazing… But this tier was by far the easiest of the series (and in the discussion for easiest 24-man on launch). I'm a pretty average player and it felt… Slow, for lack of a better word. Our FC went in completely blind and one-shot the entire thing. That didn't happen on the previous two tiers (there was always at least one mechanic that tripped up the entire group, two in Euphrosyne).

I think this part of the reaction to people gear cheesing the Alliance Roulette to avoid getting certain duties. Gotta design for the lowest common denominator so that it will be do-able 6, 8, 12 months later in a roulette with randos. Apparently they'd rather aim low now than echo boost later. Not sure if that's the right call.

I liked the story and I will have that music in my headphones for a while. Return to Ivalice is still my favorite, tho. But… this late in the expansion cycle, I doubt I'll come back to it now that I have the clear. Too many other games to play right now.

  2. I would say this series is my overall favorite of all the raids. Had a good balance of everything instead of only being good in one thing and either being meh or bad in others. Crystal tower had good story and visuals but suffered from ARR game design, Void Ark was the closest to this in balance but the sorry was weaker then Crystal and Myths and you still had some of the ARR game design holding it back, Ivalice was pretty meh in everything until Orbonne, aside from math boss (his goofiness will always be fun), and relied way too much on people playing Tactics for its story and music to work, but I would say Orbonne is still mechanically the best raid tier after Thunder God was balanced. NieR had mechanics and nothing else and even then the mechanics didn't age the best. This raid had a great story (I dont know why, but I just like there was no continental/world threat; plus this was a great epilogue to the Hydalean/Zodiark arc), easily the best raid music and visuals of all the raid series, and mechanics that did a great job reflecting each of the Twelve's characteristics while still being fun, because contrary to some people beliefs, a raid does not need to be hard and wipe people to be fun. Thunder God before he was nerfed it a good showing of how hard =/= fun.

Also, the final boss's ultumate attack is easily one of the coolest attacks in the games. Straight up looked like an Ultimate enrage.

Edit: Also wow is Happy's group over equipped. Watching other streamers fight this and then looking at this really drives home how stacked his premade's ilvl is becuase from my own experience and other streamers, final boss and others, except the first boss, are usually at 50% once they finish their first loop of mechanics.

  3. Honestly even though this raid was easy. I enjoyed everything else about it. From the bosses, the visuals, the music, the mechanics, and yes that finale. So overall I give it a 9/10. So overall the Myths of the Realm as a whole I give a 10/10. That's just my opinion though.

  4. I really like this one on the whole. I thought it was a big step up from the last one, but idk if that opinion will hold up after doing it a bunch of times. Final boss was the worst in a long while though, imo. I'm fine with them bringing back mechanics for the theming, but it's so slow and they just do them all one at a time. Pretty disappointing.

  5. My Alliance raid did this with no wipes and few casualties throughout, which I think is fine for what is supposed to be the easiest, if not one of the easiest, endgame raiding content.

But three-shoting the new trial makes me think the difficulty overall for 6.5 went down; my group didn't even wipe once on the dungeon before the trial.

  6. This raid series was pretty mediocre, but this one takes the cake. No add phases, no party cooperation mechanics, basic ass aoe dodges

ZZZZZZZZZ Ivalice is still the goat

  7. I felt it was very mid. A C+.
Second boss was very plain jain, see-it-before mechanics.

Also, though the music revisits ARR, it is fairly standard, almost generic FF music.

Compared to Aglaia and Euphrosyne, I felt very let down.

  8. people talking about how easy the raid is then i remember how bad and slow it went with randoms. the problem more comes down to them not having premades in mind. not to say the final boss isnt a let down though. really wanted more from literal true god. also music of the other 2 ew alliance raids was definitely better.
story was nice too so id give it a B. personally though i never liked alliance raids much anyways aside nier raids for glamour and being a nier fan. ARR is just ARR
Void Ark one is just not memorable to me

the ivalice raids story wise lean too much into tactics ffxii intergration and the fights are just fucking miserable in alliance roulette.

  9. I thought aglaia and euphrosyne were some of the weakest 24 mans, with arguably stuff like world of darkness and void ark being more engaging, and half of halone and menphina's moveset just being half room cleave overlayed on another half room cleave and Althyk/Nymeia barely having any mechanics at all just made me think the designers were in a big design rut

This feels significantly more engaging, its not really up there with Ivalice, I think cast times can be a bit lethargic, but the pacing is much better, there's more random variations, and just more varied mechanics in general. Honestly think most of the recent dungeon bosses have more going on than most of Aglaia and Euphrosyne.

  10. Unpopular opinion but square dropped the ball with this series gameplay wise. Final boss being a copy paste of previous bosses with only 1 or 2 unique mechanics made it boring as fuck.

Looks and aesthetics were cool though.

  11. I loved this raid! I thought the bosses were great and I loved the cutscene after that first run. I think the entire Endwalker expansion was fabulous and the raids just added to the entire expansion. So much better than any of the other raids in my opinion!

  12. The raid is far easier than I expected. Not only that, I very much dislike the last boss. The visuals are a mess, the arena is a visual mess, and if you know the other bosses, there's only like one or two new things so it's boring as hell. Overall, very disappointed in Thaleia.
