  1. if they are sane enough it's not using the engine or spaghetti code we're all used to, which means not being held by the technical limitations we all know of so well…if any of the long requested qol features come to this game i swear to god this community is going to descend even deeper into madness and i can't even blame them lmao.

  2. Cant believe they did this crap instead of FFXI Mobile. My only hopes after watching this is that they try to bring back true MMO elements to the main game and filter their basic simps into this mobile game.

  3. I’m not exactly jumping for joy nor do I want to burn it at the stake. I’m just simply curious on what the hell this could be. Although if this version comes to the switch (Or atleast to the switch 2) then that would be interesting.

  4. For people who apparently just read the headline and assume the worst because they think terminal cynicism is a compelling character trait:

    – This is not developed by Creative Studios 3 or even any Square Enix studio, but by Lightspeed Studios. Square just gave them permission to make it.

    – It's also not going to be the same thing as the current Final Fantasy XIV. You're not going to be able to log on your character on your phone, or end up in duties with phone players. This game will be an entire standalone thing with a separate client.

  5. Imagine if the mobile game has proper difficulty because they want to sell us crap. Hate how easy 90% of ffxiv is.

I will be so mad if they give phones a classic 14. I want a pc version of servers starting with ARR and moving forward

  6. I barely have time to play the REAL game half the time…. especially with my arthritis haha. If I'm outta the house why the heck would i be tryin to get in any meaningful amount of time on an MMO whenever i get a chance to play a phone game (which i never do….usually, and then it's solitaire or something). If I'm home, why would i even WANT to when i can play the real one? If this isn't linked to the real game i REALLY don't see the point… I mean i had like 10 diff people already say last night we'd play it/use it to check our sales / send the retainers out… that's it.

Edit: Well… there are kids who're NEVER off their phone.. lol

  7. i wonder if theres gonna be parity between it and the main live servers, or if by "sister game" they mean its gonna be its own thing. in that case i would have preferred a rebuild of 1.0 story with more modern features/mechanics

  8. does anyone actually want this? it’s actually kind of concerning that they aren’t using these resources on something else. imagine all the time and money that could have been spent improving the game we already have

  9. Alot are complaining but I am actually kinda excited! Hopefully it will have controller support plus my freidns the dont wanna play the game on PC or console can just hope on mobile and play with me that way! Let see how this goes before complaining! It seems like its gonna be a good way for others to get into. We will still have FFXIV on our PC's and consoles.

  10. lol the most biggest shake up this game can get is just letting a different stuido recreate it and bring it back to 2.x because they prolly understand ffxiv was at it biggest around 2.x/3.x and its a way to get all their mmorpg players back that played back then. haha

i may even come back if its almost like a classic version with more social elements and old abilties. Cleric stance and stoneskin and protectra? yes plz

  11. It will be fine. Itll be like wuthering waves of genshin with ffxiv coat of paint. There might even be a pc version of the mobile version.

Im thinking people have never played games like those so they dont see how ffxiv could fit. Well for starters there probably wont be hotbars, probably just tap screen to attack. Hold on character to do a defensive. There might be 1-5 discrete buttons that use an ultimate etc.

Also, just because something is a certain way in the current pc/ps5/xbox version does not mean it has to be that way in the mobile. For example, they might make leves more useful and valuable and make them accumulate slower. Or, they might condense crafting into one system/job, etc.

Might do job switching in combat instead of switching characters like those other games. Switch to whm to heal, switch to pld to take a big attack, switch to mnk to do a lot of damage, etc.

This isnt for people who already play the game on big rigs.

  12. The fact that it's going to release in china first says a lot about its target audience, not made for western like a lot of the mobile stuff, it's china first, likely to have micro transactions too

  13. Who is this made for? Is there a population of people, interested in FF14, an 11 year old game, who aren't already playing it, and who dont have a computer to play the already free trial which includes everything this mobile offers and more, but DOES have a phone? I can't see how this makes sense, if someone wanted to play ARR again, they would create an alt or free account, so what exactly does "A Realm Reborn; Reborn again on Mobile!" bring to the table, other than the hilarious prospect of someone arrested for trying to Raid and Drive at the same time. I mean, I hope this is cool, I just don't understand why its worth anyone's effort to create in the first place.
