  1. What are your thoughts on the major Shadowbringers story event surrounding the wol? Does it change or modify your thoughts on canonicity of the wol?

Also, Heucherante was killed by a primal infused javelin with who knows what kind of attributes and at the time, you're at best a journeyman healer. That's kind of above you're paygrade without bringing into spoils of who the wol potentially is before the story is ready for it.

  3. I think more short lore PSAs are good to watch. It’s faster and simple to get out of the way of minor or sometimes big concepts over going in depth in a full video.

If I had to ask for a future topic, would you possibly address the Echo from gameplay mechanics and implications? From what I can tell, it could be necessary for newer players who want to dive in further.

  4. Only a handful of people know how truly dedicated you are to accuracy when you quickly removed the Omega video because of a few small incorrect bits <3 Love your content and can't wait for Endwalker content whenever you get around to it 😀 Finish the game first and have fun before you make videos >:O

  5. How exactly was the Thirteenth Shard destroyed in a way that rendered it unusable compared to the other rejoined Shards? Does it have to do with darkness and light working differently than the six "true" elements or was it that the Shard was destroyed all at once rather than slowly? And how is the situation with the First different in a way that makes it still rejoinable?

On that note with rejoining- we have a pretty clear picture of the Sixth Umbral Calamity. Black Mages used lightning, fire and ice aether from nature while White Mages used earth and air, leaving a surplus of water that flooded the world. But apparently the true causes of the Umbral calamities is aether coming in from other Shards- was this a coincidence, caused by some sort of narrative correlation between Shards, or was it just planned and executed really well by the Ascians?

Light is umbral/stasis while dark is astral/active aka dynamic. Do we have confirmation that Zodiark was dark-aspected because he was summoned to change the laws of the Star, or is that just a coincidence? And if so, is Hydaelyn light-aspected because was she meant to keep the new status quo?

Does Hydaelyn being light-aspected somehow tie in with her ability to "split things"/sunder? In fact, why did Hydaelyn have that ability in the first place?

  6. At first I was gonna comment that the attack mentioned in the healing magic part also weakens healing….. then I remember that is from a fight based on a embellished account from a certain Wandering Minstral

  7. WoL is the weakest part of the story. They are an idiot.
EDIT: Also can't Light and Dark have both Umbral and Astral 'phases' they go through? So the element can hold a charge in either direction.

  8. What are your thoughts on Red Mage lore changing due to the new verflare animation? I was told verflare used three smaller flares to avoid messing up the aether like Black Mage's flare. But now that Red Mage's flare throwing out the three smaller flares animation out, does that mean SE is betraying the lore? I'm of the view that lore is active vs. static. For example, while at one point Red Mages used three smaller flares to avoid the damage that a Black Mage flare would do to the aetherial balance, they've now found a way to flare like a Black Mage without messing with aether.

  9. As for raise I see it as a defibrillators, CPR, or some other method of restarting the heart. Start with very recently dead mostly intact corpse heal the critical damage and restart the heart. To much damage it fails, wait to long it fails, the soul moves on it fails. Yes it can bring back the dead but no differently then modern Doctors can with the equipment and supplies can. As for Raubahn I would say its probably possible to reattach a missing limb with healing magic if you get there fast enough (and have said limb) but unless you are a Ancient with the creation magic your not going to regrow one any time soon.

  10. I do think that the WoL can utilize as many soul crystals as they want. Even for the quests some of them are manufactured to be used by anyone (i.e. Blue MAge soul crystals) and it's sometimes stated that the WoL isn't gaining much from the Soul Crystals, they're simply really fast learners (like for the later parts of the Warrior quests) so I feel like the acquisition of soul crystals is kinda there for gameplay (after all anyone can learn Warrior techniques for example).
Another point to make is the amount of down time the WoL has. Especially between expansions. The WoL can go off, learn stuff real quick (it's already been determined that they earn stuff very quickly), go back to the Scions and even there's a bit of down time in the patch work quests (one dungeon in Stormblood is the result of such downtime, Skalla).
And if the trailers are a part of events that can possibly be even half canon (the devs seem to want that stuff to be canon from the looks of it), the WoL does indeed use down time to learn new stuff since they know their main part is the head the charge in fights so being flexible is probably what they want to do despite probably never being a healer, (he was an archer though) bard, mechanist, or dancer

  11. The WoL from a Roleplayer perspective is easy to separate as just being the one in the Trailers obviously they do all the stuff they do MSQ, Raid wise etc and have their canonical jobs but outside of being a Male Hyur with special powers there's really no reason to go anywhere further than that in regards to the character.

  12. Another fine video! As a small aside, the writers and designers DID make some sense of the end of the Vault, though admittedly, during an in-universe non-canon encounter. In Thordan's Reign, players struck by the Spear of the Fury suffer infirmity, making healing ineffective on them for a brief time. While this IS a Minstrel's Ballad fight, considering that the details of the encounter with the Heaven's Ward were told to the Minstrel by the WoL themselves, it does create room for the possible explanation that, were they a healer for those events, they very well MAY have tried to save Haurchefant's life… only to find their powers were rendered useless by the Spear, until it was too late.

  13. I would like to do one correctiona about the echo, not everyone can be awaken to the Echo, only those that are a shard of an ascian can, and they are very few, since most of the Ascians are completely dead due to the end of days and the survivors that recided in Amaurot were divided in half to create Zodiark, most of the current citizens of Hydaelyn are sons of fragments of ascians, thus they are not ascians per say, they can't wake the echo, this is further hinted in the patches of shadowbringers, not all citizens of the cristarium awoke their echo when Elidibus summoned the vision of the end of the days, because not all of them were ascians in the past.

  14. I think you might be overstating the video game aspects and downplaying how special the player character's warrior of light really is. Having multiple soul stones isn't prohibited (why would they be? They're just crystallized aether memories that impart job skills) and the WoL is canonically special in Shadowbringers, so that can't be ignored.

You also seem hung up on the passage of time between events but the stormblood lodestone stories basically confirm the WoL has plenty of time to waste on optional fetch quest adventures instead of scion business. In fact it was for this reason the WoL was so well known in the post 8th calamity world. Shadowbringers itself made canon almost all the previous optional raids for that same reason. Even the WoL's previous life as Azem played out the same way, with him adventuring. You can't just claim only the MSQ is canon for the WoL.

  15. I'm not so sure about the echo honestly. Consider that Emet-Selch claimed, in no uncertain terms, that he and the rest of the convocation had been tempered by Zodiark, and them being Amaurotians not only had the echo but the most primal and powerful version of the power. Moreover, the first time Ifrit tries to temper the WOL his priest says that you already belong to another. Could the blessing of light be Hydaelyn's tempering and it's what makes you immune to other gods'?

Now, I don't have an explanation for Heavensward (I actually haven't watched the cutscenes in years, but do they try to actively temper you?) or Fordola and Arenvald. Perhaps Midgardsorm was able to block some aspect of the blessing (the beneficial ones,) but not the fundamental tempering. Perhaps the echo does protect against tempering, but elder primal tempering is just that much stronger . I just don't think we know enough about this to tell for certain what protects one from tempering.
