I've been having a hard time getting anyone to help me level my Blue Mage, so I just went ahead and got Goblin Punch and Rehydrate. It's not the difficult if you're stuck at level 70. I just summoned my chocobo to help with additional DPS and healing.
party finders up everywhere – took 35-40 minutes 70-80. Labirynthos upper northwest corner, caribou massacre did the deed.
Can you do Ultima Thule for leveling or?

how long did it take you to level from 70 to 80?
I'm currently at level 70, but stopped doing the Masked Carnivale at Stage 26, so an updated Carnivale guide with the new spells would be good.
wow, you are suggesting this leveling method which took you an hour to do for one person. Took an hour for me and my wife to get both of our blue mages leveled to 80 killing the level 80 dodos just past the elephant beast tribe quest hub. Probably would've been even faster but baby aggro makes playing tricky sometimes. If you have someone power leveling you go for the good exp per kill.
Imagine doing a guide and mixing both Kholusia and Amh Araeng…
Don't forget to equip your Menphina's Earring! Also FC buff and food can speed up the leveling a little.

I got Goblin Punch to start my leveling. Actually I basically grabbed all the overworld spells that I was missing as my start to leveling.
