Dropped Enochian with 5s left until next Polyglot? Time to jump off the arena.
NIN bunny curse. That's all.
WoW combat feels so much better than 14 combat it literally doesn't matter how much better 14 classes on. Until they lower the GCD and make pressing an ability feel more responsive it'll never compare at all.
Dragoon is more fun than any class I've played in wow
I think the base rotations in FF14 are way harder. I think where WoW's difficulty comes from is having to deal with multiple different fight types: Single target, Burst AOE, sustained AOE, 2 target cleave, multidotting. In FF14, most fights are single target.
Basically, I think WoW has a higher skill ceiling whereas FF14 has a higher skill floor.
"there are classes in ffxiv that if you fuck up its the end of the world"
me: clicking meikyo shishu before dying as tsubame gaeshi comes up.
"there are classes in ff where if you fuck up it's the end of the world"
me when dying right after activating enochian and ley lines and they're both on cool down
"Guess I'll go kill myself."
I think the strength of WoW's class design is how you sometimes have to make moment to moment decisions and have to adapt your prio (not rotation) to the occuring situation. Saying Final Fantasy's classes are more complex is a bit far fetched. Both games design their classes according to the environment they are put in. Maybe I didn't play enough jobs in FF on a high enough level to have a valid opinion on it but after optimizing the opener and getting in tune with your raid wide buffs, the classes start to feel a bit dull. Even summoner isn't that complicated, though people hold the 2-minutes-rotation somewhat high.
On the other hand: Many classes in WoW have lots of utility they can provide to the party and have to learn to synergize in a more dynamic way than I made the experience in FFXIV.
Maybe I am too diplomatic and see the benefits of both games but not the cons.
People should know the pain of dropping Enochian early while it's on CD at level 60+ on BLM before the expansion patches it out to be easier.
I mentioned this to a old WoW-Friend and they finally understood what I meant.
To play on his constant rant of "FFXIV GCD SLOW WOW FAST" arguement, I told him:
"Yes, I admit WoW GCD is faster. No question, FFXIV base is 2.5 second, and no matter how much skspd you get, 1.5 is near impossible, the fastest I've been with a old meme build was 1.7 second as a NIN/MNK/SAM I think and even then you don't even WANT to go that fast. I admit that yes WoW is faster.
But how many buttons do you have, and how many are you pressing every 1.5 second? Oh, your class has a 5, 6 button rotation where 3 of them is a Proc based. And you're pressing 1 button every 1.5 second? And that's on EVERY class right? So that means in a span of let's say, 26 second which is roughly a opener amount of FFXIV, you're pressing in total oh roughly 17 buttons, maybe 18 right? ok
On FFXIV I play the SLOWEST melee job called Dragoon, and you're pressing in a span of 26 second which is the usual opener for every job, I am pressing 22 button roughly, and alot of them involved using 2 oGCD abilities INBETWEEN my 2.5 second GCD rotation. And even after that my base-rotation in between burst which is every 60 to 90 second, I am still pressing a good 12 to 15 buttons, sometimes even more.
And we're both doing this WHILE doing mechanics of end-game boss raids. And unlike WoW's 1 button every 1.5 second, and picking one button out of the 5 abilities, FFXIV, we're keeping up this constant strict rotation where sometimes we're pressing around 12 to 15 buttons to suddenly pressing 20+ again for our burst. I don't know how punishing it is in WoW to "miss" a proc, but in FFXIV, if you do a SINGLE mistake in your rotation, you've tanked your own damage fairly hard, even worse depending on where you buggered up. Also this is with the SLOWEST Melee DPS in the entire game.
So yes, WoW GCD is faster.
But my god, you are WAY more busy in FFXIV rotation than ever."
After this my friend attempted FFXIV and go to atleast level 60 on BRD (I told him its the most proc-heavy job alongside Dancer) and he was having a blast and didn't know why he thought WoW damage Rotation was difficult. He's still playing since I told him this.
Guys blur out ACT you could get banned because of it. It happended in the past to some User. So be careful with it. It is a grey zone but the ff devs didn´t like it because it could cause toxic behavior. And with some addons it dose datamining. This is a no go for the ff devs and you earn a perma bann for useing this typ of Stuff. Just want to warning you 😉

why does every single WoW raider have to edit their HUD to just look absolutely atrocious?
