  1. Love this, as someone who isn't as familiar with FF11 it's cool to see a bit more of the areas EoV is based on! Thanks Meoni, the recreation seems pretty impressive so far, very curious how this first AR chapter plays out and what else they might roll in as it progresses.

  2. FF11 actually look surprisingly decent, at least from geometry perspective, texture is pretty crap.
I wonder can FF11 be modded like FF14? Even before graphical update we have texture mod already, a texture upscale for FF11 would be huge!

  3. as someone that still plays FFXI to this day, watching the live letter i sincerely audibly gasped when i saw the new picture of jeuno. I've been saying all these years that if they brought back Jeuno in the current engine it would be such a passion recall from square and man they look like they really are gonna deliver on this one.

  4. They better make this explorer mode compatible or like they did with parts of the neir raids
I’d spend so much time there, fk, make jeuno part of the hub for the raids!

  5. I miss the days of FFXI, Before the button mashing WOW style MMO, when you actually had to know your jobs, and perform your Skill Chains, and Magic Links, manually select each attack. Just if we do get a remaster XI don't bring the Level Down Mechanic back…I still have nightmares of being in Yuhtunga Jungle and dying and hearing that level down sound.

  6. So, this Jeuno is Etheyris's version and not XI's is what I'm reading on the XIV subreddit? Curious if this is XIV's take on XI history ala Ivalice is loosely based on older games and parts exist around Bozja..

It could mean that parts of XI does exist in a yet undisclosed location which I'm assuming is the new world, OR this is part of the world merging shenanigans that Sphene was involved in.

  7. Dammit. Now I need to reinstall FFXI and play it again lmao I may actually play this raid. I almost always skip these but as a 20 year FFXI player, I just have to do these. Just no Nyzul Isle raids for the love of god. That’s where I got stuck on my mythic
Those damn lamp floors as a solo player are vile

  8. Oh, I'm quite familiar with Jeuno, as that's the place I got stuck in until I quit because that's where Party Finder (Savage) begins.

I've been told Final Fantasy 11 is a much different experience these days, but I'm not sure it's worth re-visiting when all of my memories of it weren't great, and how it was one of the games (alongside Star Wars Galaxies) that pushed me into World of Warcraft because it was the only casual MMO around back then.

  9. I remember the first time I saw the Throne Room cutscene for the Shadow Lord fight in 11. At first I thought it was an altar. Then it opened up and I realized no, that's not an altar. That's the sarcophagus he was sealed in.

  10. Remember the XI/XIV crossover already existed, it could be that we are literally going to Vana'diel the same way Iroha came to Etheyris, which over in XI she was missing and returned with a technique she learns during the crossover on XIV's side. So both worlds are already connected by the smallest thread. My guess is that it will be a timeline that cannot exist and Atropos will want to eat it.
