  1. I think ffxiv devs are being held to a lawful good standard, that if they don’t fulfill, disappoints the players. I think this is the players chance to either live up to their standards or just pocket the money.

  2. This is great and all, but housing continues to be marketed as one of XIV's main gameplay styles and it's still ridiculously hard to get a house. The system needs to be changed already, it's just too exclusionary to the point that it's an emotionally painful system for me and my fellow homeless friends that desperately want even just a Small. Apartments and FC rooms are claustrophobic and make the system feel unfun for a lot of us, and the island sanctuary won't help since it's a whole other type of gameplay. Those of us who want housing want to play FF-flavored Sims, and while Harvest Moon might be fun, it's a whole other type of game.

  3. My advice: keep the gil and don't feel bad. Consider how player unfriendly housing has been for such a long time. Nobody is harmed by you keeping it. Just take the 'W' and focus on how obnoxiously you can design your hard earned house.

  4. they should give people who gives back the money some special title or sth. but dont tell anyone and give the title after they removed the npc again 🙂 that would be amazing

  5. I think it's fucked up that there are people who are going to get free houses. Nobody should be getting a house for free especially if it turns out to be a large or a mansion. There are people who can't even afford to get a house and want one. That just screams that they're lazy and don't want to do that proper due diligence to make sure all houses are paid for

  6. every time you go into your house, there should be a cutscene where the npc dunks your head in the toilet while screaming WHERES THE MONEY LEBOWSKI

  7. I'm assuming that when he says "Voluntarily return the deposit", he's going to give them some sort of incentive. That way they spend the same amount of gil as they did on the house, and get something else for their troubles instead. Maybe some sort of housing item or tokens of some sort. Something so that they feel compensated for the trouble they went through that makes it worth giving back their millions of gil. That will also give them the option of not WANTING this incentive and rather just have their money instead.

  8. Anyone complaining Gil is worthless or that there’s runaway pricing on the market board, you better give back the money. A huge plus of this housing was each ward would obliterate over half a billion Gil. Across all wards in a server, that would make changes to the servers’ economies. The biggest Gil complaint over and over again is the game keeps injecting it and is never destroyed, making it worth less and less. That’s the entire reason the luxury mounts exist, remember?
