Somehow, listening to that song, imagining it's G'raha saying it to you, makes it that much harsher on the tearducts TT_TT
Ryne's line obliterates me from orbit every time without fail
Raptor: "I am ready to see how they return everyone to us, it will be epic."
G'raha: "I want you to make me a promise."
Raptor: "Wait stop that's illegal D:!"
19:04 The ShB theme for max feels.
44:51 Ryne did it.
Fun fact:. Every NPC follow mission I RP walked everywhere.
And out of all of them, the walk with the twins killed me the most because while it gave me as much time with them as possible, I knew when I got to the next area, they would have to go too.
When they mentioned their plan I told them I swore to keep them safe to their parents, and then when the long walk occured, it was the one time I wanted to sprint to the end, but I HAD to walk that one and and look nfer on the weight I carried on my shoulders.
in the next expansion, certain death will wait beyond a plot point, and G'raha and Y'shtola are going to clonk heads in their desperate scramble to be the first one to sacrifice themselves
catnerds, i fuckin' swear
God JFBEHXJSBS Ultima Thule remains my favorite area just for the quests and music in it. Every now and again I’ll teleport just to sit and listen and sit in the flowers
Watching this at work was a mistake, I started breaking into tears at the Endwalker part, and was trying to wipe away tears before anyone saw and I had to explain my crying watching Raptor react to a video game story.
Endwalker was just one big feels trip after another. I'm not entirely sure I ever had totally dry eyes when going through Ultima Thule. Needless to say I absolutely lost it when the twins left.
And now the moment Endwalker became an experience if it wasn't one already…
Nice to know that I wasn't only one bawling even though I knew the Scions would be coming back and then getting angry at them for putting the WOL through that when they came back, (I believe my exact words were, "I'm kicking you all off this cliff if you do that again ya bunch of pricks," at 3:00 am in the morning with tears streaming down my face). Also Hythlo & Emet…. Those dorky theater kids, I'm almost proud of them for the dramatics.
I hope Hades and Hythlodaeus are reincarnated and come back
Something I like… When you make the field of flowers (which hold all colors, not just white) you have defeated Meteion. After all the final trial boss isn't her wish but the amalgamation of all the dead souls Meteion's sisters accumulated in their travels.
I swear this expansion made me cry so damn much, my eyes got dehydrated XD
also it rules so much that the first thing Emet does is scream "HOW DARE HERMES DUNK ON ME"
Fun Fact: "Close to the Distance" (Ultima Thule's BGM) calls back to past Expansions on the lyrics:
No time for mourning
rises on a land *reborn* from the ashes
'Neath the *heavens*
To sunset, *blood*-red skies tranquil after the *storm*
Blessed *shadow*
Also, like the one i said about Estinien; I think its the same for G'raha. Eternal Wind plays to signify G'raha Tia himself talking to you as the friend you know him as, so when Tommorow and Tommorow comes in, It's G'raha calling his "Crystal Exarch" Persona once again to give him some confidence to do what needed to be done, like he did during 5.3.
Honestly, I like the play on songs in this expansion to signify meaning like how Old Sharlayan's Day BGM has *Flow*'s chorus in the song to signify that she was nearby.
I'll admit it, G'raha's scene absolutely broke me, and I don't cry very easily. I thought we were done with losing him. I didn't want to go through that again.
(It definitely hit a lot harder when going through it again on one of my alts, who is another member of the G tribe and Raha's older sibling)
Losing G'raha really kinda drove the point home. I didn't want to lose the twins; we literally started ARR on the same carriage/boat as them, even if we didn't realize it at first. We've seen them both grow considerably, and losing them hurt the most for me.
And then 'The Walk'. Hearing Haurchefant again, I got as far as Aymeric before I had to stop and just have a cry.
I want to say this was the most emotional part of Endwalker, without fail. It's most likely true. Doesn't mean the feels are over yet, though… ^^;
Me: "Yes, finally, I've been waiting for the delicious tears"
Also me: "Nooo, it's my tears"
My one criticism about the song progression is that the lyrical version should've been saved for the Endwalker segment after the twins' sacrifice.
EMOTIONAL DAMAGE
And nobody noticed Cocoon in the background 😝
Square knew what they were doing with bookending the beginning and end of the final walk with Ardbert.
Also, some may have felt guilty about possibly not remembering a voice during the final walk, and to them I share a comment from another video.
Graha: 5.3
“And there may come a day when you forget the faces and voices you met along the way. On that day, I bid you remember this – that no matter how far your journey may take you, you stand where you stand by virtue of the road you walked to get there.”
Do not feel bad, just because here, at journey's end, some voices resonate stronger in your heart than others.
What really got me was later on when I realized Those could have very well been the last line's Stephen Critchlow recorded as lord Edmont De Fortemps. Or at all really.
The endwalking part brought me to tears like it was raining. At the end when Ardbert says, “Let’s finish this.” I said: Once and for all.
Why do i keep watching when eating my food is salty now T_T
Graha: I want yo to
Raptor: immediately cries and floods the place
Having G’raha be the one to confront transhuman angst was some clutch writing. I didn’t see it coming but it fit like a glove.
Even knowing deep down that they would be restored, this whole sequence was still really effective. The music helped a lot too. 🙂
At last… the endgame is here.
And I am all for watching you charge headlong into it.
BRING IT ON! *BRING. IT. ON!*
46:01 "I'm at the first bubble, but at what cost…."
Watching it again the part that, without fail, absolutely nukes me is when Hopeful Dynamis starts playing after Hermes' voice.
How a single piano note carries that much emotional weight is absolutely astonishing.
Not even 2 minutes into the video, and Raptor is starting to simp for a robot that essentially said it’d capture or kill her if her home was deemed a target
God, hearing the Flames of Truth music for the twins' stand… It was just too perfect. And of course the music for graha was just completely unfair as always.
