  1. Have you guys done any hunts lately? It’s a miracle that the zone doesn’t light on fire when there’s a shadowbringers A train coming through. Hunting is a mess right now because of tome augment gear farming (and people resubbing in general). But yeah, overworld zones can handle up to a few hundred people in one place but it gets messy with culling and horrible performance for sure.

  2. To be fair, Chris, WoW's patch cycle is insanely inconsistent. Usually they try to stay to a schedule but the last 3 expansions did not have consistent patch cycles and the WoW devs have stated they are considering cutting the expansion "Shadowlands" short much in the same way they cut WoD short. SE is way more consistent, let's give them more credit here

  3. Brian: dont see any guild wars 2 refugees?
Youtube: follow up video, guild wars 2 refugee plays his first ff14 trail XD

Also, if square wants to push the last ultimate to 5.51, i dont think they should break job balance. If we were still getting an ultimate next tuesday would be its launch.

  4. 9:37 – Agreed. I pay and keep my sub up all the time, but a while back I got a friend and his wife to try the game. They liked the free trial (the original, short duration, level 30 cap one), and so paid for a month or so sub since they had some money to spare. They weren't super into the story at level 10-20, but probably would have liked HW, but only subbed for a month or so.

For them to get the new trial up to level 60 and through HW, they'd have to make new accounts and new characters and do the crappy part of leveling through ARR over again, and…don't want to, obviously.

It seems odd to punish people that actually bought the game and paid for a sub in the past.

Contrast with WoW, which only lets you play to level 20 (pre Shadowlands, not sure what it is now) but you can do so as much as you want. If you get a sub and level higher? You can still have a free trial on that account and play any character below level 20 that you want if you let your sub lapse (you just can't log into your higher level characters)

It's really strange to me to punish people that gave you money vs those that have not. My guess is that it's a software/hardcoded thing, but….it still seems like something that should be addressed. Hell, if my sub lapsed, it'd be nice if I could play my <60 Jobs and just not be able to swap to my >60 ones, but again, that's probably a software thing that there's nothing in the code that flags that or that can place that limiter, so they simply don't allow it at all.

  5. You guys should've mentioned that the new raid starts 2 weeks after launch and savage is an additional 2 after that. I mentioned this since new players won't know that and I bet that's one of the first things on their minds.

  6. That comment about free trial after you bought the game hits a little hard. Had a family member actually buy the game so we could make a free company together and I could purchase a FC house for us back when they were adding 3 more wards, and then they took a break and now frees cheated when they're only level 20 or 30 and now has to pay the monthly sub when they still have all of ARR and HW to play through, which they could have done for free.

Even if I kick him from the FC and such, doesn't matter. Feels kind of dirty, personally, and they haven't played since because of it.

  7. Would love to get a reaction/response to: “So, you’ve done the unspeakable. You bought a job and story advancement. Now what?”

That says it all. With the dread of a bottomless quest log from when I first tried the game years ago still burned into my mind, I caved. All I kept hearing was how amazing Shadowbringers was. But, when I considered coming back to the game, I had the wall of how much I had to do before I could reach it in front of me.

The service is offered legitimately by SE and I couldn’t resist. Bought a class, unlocked Gunbreaker and have been having a blast… by myself. There’s where the trouble lies. Having grown up on MMOs and video games in general, I know how integral the journey to cap can be in learning the mechanics of a game. In the end, I only ended up hurting myself. Now, watching your videos, seeing how much fun you and your community are having, a big part of me wants to join in. But I feel like I’m too late into the game to learn some things and not ruin a group’s experience. I don’t want to be a burden.

Maybe I’m the only one in this situation. I imagine I’m not. Any advice on how to approach this? I am constantly watching your guides–but is that even enough?

Anyways guys, I’m a huge fan. I love the content you put out and I’ve been binging your content/guides.

You have a real approachable energy and, as much as I can tell from the other side of a computer screen, seem like really good people. Wishing you all the best.

  8. Would it be at all possible to put gameplay in the background of these? I get these are just things you're supposed to listen to in the background, but I tend to focus on these things better if I'm actually watching the video, so some gameplay to watch while listening to you guys would be amazing.

  9. 3:31 I agree and disagree, I think the new classes should come out before the expansion to. That way, people who want to play them throughout the expansion can level them and learn them before the new story stuff is out, instead of having to choose between playing the story or unlocking the new class when the expansion comes out, falling behind in the story if they decide to level the class first, and possibly seeing spoilers online because of that.
