Ffxiv Endwalker or FFXIV? EWWWW
Personally for me, I'm super hyped to find out what the new melee is. With the Skeletor looking guy on his shirt during the announcement showcase and then his Children of Bodom shirt (who's mascot for all their albums has been the grim reaper) during the live letter I'd say that's strong reasoning for it to be necromancer. If that's the case I'm hoping maybe similar gameplay to how unholy DK plays in WoW. Perhaps having a proper undead minion or several, that could also make sense for the rumoured SMN rework people have been talking about recently. But definitely most hyped to find out what that is as a drg main since I started playing around patch 4.4ish
Necro doesn't technically have to be a traditional pet class. It'd be possible to summon one off "pets" as abilities and spells to do an effect then bolt.
โฆ it'd be SO cool if it was a puppeteer with a scythe that called in calco brina style dolls. Haha Though I seriously doubt that's it. It'd still be freaking sweet.
I'm guessing the melee class will be "Reaper" and be a melee centric death mage job.
Kinda happy this will be the last expansion for this game. I want them to release a brand new FF MMO that is PC and new gen consoles only with a new engine. Would look so much better. I know some people like to play with a controller but I would hope the new one didn't restrict the game play and complexity of the jobs/classes in any way so controller players could keep up with keyboard and mouse players.
i would love of the next melee DPS to be the opposite of red mage. Full physical attacking kit with power magic burst phases.
I'll be honest during the 5.0 fan fests leading up to 5.0 the first fan fest they said player PLAYER RUN FARMS and since then nothingโฆ I guess the Farm Island is what they was talking about but I'm really disappointed as that was the main thing I've been looking forward to in 5.0โฆ
And now I am on 99 spells learned, the last five remaining locked behind Masked Carnivale.
There is a typed command to switch gauges too. Can't remember the exact phrase though. And wasn't Black Mage cover art for ARR?
Everyone keeps pointing to necro and saying its gotta summon a pet or raise dead. But necromancer are more about siphoning life and utilizing negative energy (opposite of healing energy) so I see it being kinda like a melee red mage, filling a bar for large attacks and utilizing procs, melee scythe attacks fill a Guage and negative energy attacks fill a guage
Necromancer in Guild Wars 2 has a melee form with a scythe + access to pets, so its possible to use that similar concept in this game too.
What if for the new PvP system they incentivize people to play jobs that are needed. Say like the new stuff is a 8v8 and you log into the prep phase and your whole team is 7 dps and 1 tank. The game can pop up a message that says the first person to change to a heal will get extra rewards this match or something. Making healers not needed for pvp takes out a huge part of team strategy. The team that works better together and that is willing to play the right comp should win.

If they made an FFXIV series X I would buy it no matter the cost
