I don’t think anyone will be mad at you for telling others about this as there will always be a market for Materia. I did this for the shared set and then bought the rest for the tools because it would probably take more than 5 to 7 hours of straight collectible crafting to gain a good amount to begin melding which I couldn’t be bothered with as it’s so mind numbing lol
I spent money but I'm trying to horde for next gear rank with this.

I think nobody is gonna be mad for this. I've done both (bought some materia on via Marketboard and use purple/white scripts to get materia). There are obvious pros and cons for both. Materia bought via Marketboard is faster albeit very expensive as the video mentions, but it is faster. If you have millions of gils at your disposal then this is not an issue. If farmed via scrips, you won't actually have problems, gil-wise but it will take a ton of gathering/crafting efforts (gathering raw mats, gathering crystals and crafting intermediate materials and crafting the specific rarefied item). The difficult part is you have to manually craft each and every item to be submitted and it will take time to accumulate scripts let alone exchange it for materia.
i just remembered when crafting materia used to cost like 1 million gil per for the best tier. I'm really glad it's not inflated to those prices any more. Thanks for the video!

5 days…..5 days ago i spent over 6mil gil buying HQ DoH/L gear and materia to penta meld them
i got most of gathers gear melded and a couple of the crafter. had i seen this video just 5 days ago i couldve saved myself all my hard earned gil….
but i dont think it will destroy the materia market simply because for a quick fix people are gonna buy materia, compared to this method that takes a few days. i say this because those of us who arent as rich as the meta crafters or those who have been crafting since the ARR days will go and do this compared to those in the top percentages who can just buy whatever they want.
I decided to wait for the next teir of crafting gear to do a proper full meld. I farmed a few 9s and 10s for the guaranteed meld spots, then just used 7s and 8s i had stockpiled to finish the rest. For myself personally it wasnt worth it to get max stats just for it to be replaced not too long after. I can make some 2 star recipes on certain classes, and anything else below 2 star is a breeze. Ive just stockpiling 9s and 10s for next tier, since thats when the melds get real brutal.
Personally when farming scrips I like the gsm lv 90 collectible for purple scrips and the gsm/crp lv 89 collectibles for white scrips. The mats for all can be farmed with a btn/min rather than from bcg, and if you have gatherer retainers they can be farming these for you as well. Imo the collectible recipes that require bcg ingredients arent quite as cost effective as the ones that only require mats acquired via gathering. Granted that means you’ll have to have more than just BTN/CUL leveled.
So I did the alchemy recipe I forget which one it was reccommended on website required I think 1 gemstone may and 2 other mats but I basically penta/quad melded all my gear using white scripts. Tho when we have to penta meld again I’m going to try and figure out the math for what melds to do because everyone even crafting website has their own version especially gathering melds too. It took me about 1 week to meld my gear tho I’m still missing like 3 more gear to be penta melded

TLDR: if it sticks it to the undercutting bots, don’t apologize.
Don’t apologize for ruining the shark sea that is anything on the market board. Undercutting has gotten so bad anymore even raid ready gear is 20k per piece on my server. I’m not sure if it’s the game’s popularity that’s the cause, or that you can use the board across all servers. What I do know, is I’ve never seen it this bad. To have nearly everything crashed all the time. I’ve seen people able to undercut is real-time also. The only thing I can think of is bot assistance.
When Endwalker dropped and I was trying to pentameld my gathering and crafting set it cost me almost 30 million gill. I think that I was cursed as everything just kept breaking. I knew about the way to get materia with scrips but it does take a while. Still the amount I wasted on buying them has changed my mind on going the slow and steady route. Thanks for the video.
Another thing I would add to this guide, is to make sure you're using as much spiritbond food/potion/buffs as possible while you're crafting these collectables with the 560 gear. This will allow you to extract even more materia once your gear pieces reach 100% spiritbond.
Finally got off my lazy butt for 590 gear. Lost 84 Cunning 7 at 5%, followed by a not so painful 48 at the same 5%.

I have a question though let's say your main purpose is to farm materia it could be better to chose other collectable with like 2 craft item in the recipe so you increase spiritbonding when Quick synthesis those items.
Watching other videos it seems that spiritbonding is increase faster when gathering than crafting. So that way you would balance each other better maybe ?
