  1. IIRC, during the last fan fest they also said there would be additional customization options for when we use our Fantasia after the update. That could mean the smallest thing possible, of course. But I'm hoping there's some new faces or hairstyles for each race. Perhaps, even some new beard options for the males. A neck and head size slider would be nice for the Elezen, lol. Then people who wanted to keep their Elezen the same can, but those who want them to look, ahem, more proportioned, have the option to.

I'm super excited for Pictomancer. Casting classes are one of my favourites in the game.

  2. I do think that you are too much of a fan boy to actually touch on the major problems and flaws the game has. If dawntrail doesn't bring something groundbreaking, I do believe that the game will suffer from people leaving. Especially those that have been playing the game for years. They're absolutely stuck in the same pattern doing the same crap with minor changes in every expansion. The game might be doing okay but it's never going to be back to its former glory. It has become way too casual.

  3. i waited for fem. hrothgar for years. i dont like how they look in the trailer. but the one we meet at the end of the main quests looked quite nice.
how amazing it is to finally be able to play this race. and even better we get a free fantasia❤

  4. Wish the FFXI content was a permanent part of the story though. Sometimes it's tough to catch the content on time or even for folks who join in the future, they will miss the collaborations. Maybe they should do a Memories of Times Past thing, where you can do special instances for past holiday events and collaborations.

  5. Wow, the new graphics look great and excited to hear about the foliage and shading upgrades! Currently I'm still using my ancient FX-9590 room heater and even that gets maxed out now when playing the game at 4K max graphics and I have a movie on picture in picture. Hopefully I can keep doing that for one more expansion before I have to upgrade my processor and MB.

  6. I could see a lot of the ARR, HW glam not getting updated. It sounds like all the new content gear and Artifact Armor will most like get updated first and work their way backwards. Probably any dyeable gear off the mogstation should be in that first batch too but they sometimes make some weird decisions regarding that.

  7. As a side note to the graphical update, they also promised a free fantasia to all players so that if your characters looks too different from what you're used to, you can use that fantasia to adjust it to look the way you like.

  8. Field operations are always a downer for me. It really is the least like-able form of content that lots of time and resources get put into… But at the same time… They give me so much stuff I actually do enjoy I don't really mind the addition of stuff for others.

  9. I hope they don't go beyond 100 for leveling after this expansion. I also hope they don't level squish us either. It would be nice to transition to a more horizontal progression because quite frankly leveling in any MMO is just not that fun. That said, I am excited for the graphical updates and I hope they break the mold a bit and explore different ways to handle dungeons. I also hope to see more improvements for pvp because I quite liked the changes they've already made.

  10. I'm big hoping PAX will be the day they release the release date. any later and that early July is starting to look not so likely. Yes the 14h broadcast isn't much later then PAX, but I think PAX would be the place to do it. Its 100% got Japanese and English, simply because YoshiP is going to speak Japanese, but because its in the US, it WILL have English translation by default, it's going to have a large audience both LIVE and via stream, and more importantly, it's SHORT. So it's more likely more people will actually be present for it. The 14h broadcast… how many people actually watch and pay attention to the whole thing? And if you are watching, how many people are actually tabbed out or have it on another monitor while doing something else? 14h is a LONG time, it would be hard to pinpoint the optimal time to announce, unless right at the start.
I think PAX would generate more hype with the live audience to react and cheer to the announcement.
