  1. Was a dancer main. Played it in Pandemonium and both Extreme trials. Low damage doesn't begin to describe it lol Hopped on my MUCH LESS geared Summoner, and blew my Dancer damage out of the water. Realllllyyyy hoping they get buffed

  2. Mained DNC back in ShB and the "boring filler phase" has always been the worst part of it for me, tbh. At the same time, I feel sorta… OK… with DNC? It's a very comfortable job, easy to pick up, and en avant is quite fun to use. I just wish there was… Idk, more to it.

  3. Dancer is amazingly comfortable and is the polar opposite from Bard in terms of flexibility.
But yeah, buffs pls. It needs it BADLY. As of today, there's no reason to not take a Bard in prog.

  4. I believe the hot on Improv is just a snapshot. Keeps ticking outside of channeling.
Which, even if a small tick, it's still 500 potency of healing for free and as a healer main I enjoy that as much as I enjoy curing waltz.

  5. I wonder if perhaps there could be something like a “moving buff” or something where your damage increases when you’re outside of the burst phase…..maybe finishing technical steps removes the buff or something like that. If you don’t get the procs outside of the window it feels so slow but otherwise I love the job and it’s quite fun at times 🤷🏻‍♂️

  6. I do basically agree, though I'm not bothered by the "boring filler". Improv though does need something different. I'd rather have like 10 guaranteed espirit in comparison to the shield. Will still be maining for savage, it's too much fun to play, even if we can't get 250k crit direct hit quadruple technical finishes now.

  7. Dancer is the perfect "Callouts job". Tanks are kinda in their own world, healers have to juggle on everybody standing in bad, and most DPS have to focus on their rotation (and movement restriction for melees and black mage). Dancer has some decent way to protect themselves, En Avant lets you compensate the additional bit of brain lag time. Most things to press are shiny so you don't need to focus too much. And your buffs are good enough you can just call out the burst window for everyone by whenever it lines up with your technical step.

  8. Was a dancer main since the beginning and still am! The con of the main rotation (1-2-1-2) being boring is not really a con to me as I enjoy how simple it is. Every 2 minutes everything goes crazy and then it goes back to slow gameplay again. I actually really love it! Also I normally want to main supports in games but always go back to dps. So it being a damage-y support is so perfect. Also I love it's aesthetic and class fantasy. Sure I wouldn't mind damage buffs, but the class itself is so perfect for me!

  9. I think if they changed improv to have a front loaded burst heal followed by a smaller hot and kept the shield the same I would like it more. Alternatively, what if it generated fan dances? Everything else works as it should for me so I like what it has, but the potencies could use tweaking.

  10. I legit wanted to change from Bard to Dancer because of how much I hate the Mage's Ballad nerf, but I'll wait and see how balancing is gonna work because Bard feels pretty strong right now

  11. I do like how they changed Flourish; at first I thought I wouldn't. Having two less procs didn't sound good on paper but once you get the new abilities procing off Devilment and Technical Step it fills it all in rather nicely without restricting you to dashing in and out to use aoes when there was really no reason to other than the potential Fan Dance proc.

  12. same problem as hw MCH boring as ffuck outside of your "press everything"phase. 1 2 and sometimes 3 and 4. and if youre super unlucky 1 2 until buffs are back. and the real sin of this job is how low 1 and 2 are. or how low fan dance is when you compare it to thinks like ninja or samurais OGCDs overall youre right if your party is super terrible. you feel terrible because you could have just been something that would contribute more by itself. and with FF14 players a pretty large majority of them even at max level still just dont put any effort into their rotations. so unless youre in premades BUILT around dancer you will feel awful because theyre not utaliziing your windows

  13. My concern with buffing DNC is the thing I specifically like about it is how much of a good support job it is. I love support jobs, ones that may be physically weaker but bring so much support and utility to the table and those kinds of jobs do tend to be a bit lower on the DPS. If they did buff DNC I’d be worried it would be at the expense of some of our support and utility because being able to benefit the party that much and put out decent damage at the same time might be too OP and I’d personally take the support over damage any day. There are plenty of jobs with mad deeps but so few support jobs on the level of DNC.

  14. Have to agree here. Dnc used to hold it's own damage wise prior to endwalker compared to other ranged DPS, but now it does fall noticeably behind. When played well in Shadowbringer you didn't just support your party, you also did your share of damage to keep up. In endwalker, it doesn't matter how well you play the job, you will fall behind by a fairly big gap. I feel this happened due to SE undertuning the potency of their attacks too much. While they did this to various jobs, none seem to suffer from it as much as dnc did. Standard attacks dropped almost 60~160 potency in some cases for general rotation and upwards of 280/450 for burst damage abilities.

  15. No offense to anyone playing it, but I just can't stomach dancer. I heard people say it was simple, but I figured it'd pick up some at 90. Nope. It's so boring. You're doing nothing, having to think about nothing, for 90% of the fight. I would argue even during your burst window you hardly have to think, you just get more buttons to press for 15s and then it's back to snooze-ville. Happy for people that like it but I honestly don't get why anyone would want to play such a dull class when there are so many other really well designed and fun classes in the game.

  16. Okay good, so the DPS output really IS lower compared to ShB, I was worried that I was doing something wrong to where I was suddenly battling it out for 7th place on the aggro table in everything now.

  17. The franchise desprerlly needs updates. a good start would be too add chat bubbles, good Arena map, making the combat at least hybrid action by adding skillshots and less animation locks and innovations like ability to tame open world monsters as your mount or open world raid bosses where players fight the boss and other players at once

  18. Improvisation is now useless ( healing does nothing, shield duration too short )
They took away our AoE buttons in Flourish and just gave us hotbar bloat instead
Class is incredibly boring to play when out of burst window
Also class is just..bad, numbers wise. BRD much higher overall dps benefit. No reason to bring DNC outside of very specific circumstances.
    It's bad.

  19. I'm seeing dancers typically parsing on par or even lower than Dark Knights and Gunbreakers.

Might be some bad dancers and good tanks, but even still. Thats a big yikes. I can't remember ever seeing a dps parsing lower than a tank with equivalent gear before. No deaths, mind.

Even with a massive skill disparity the job just isn't so complicated that you can fail it that hard. Even if your playstyle is to just use everything on cooldown and mash the buttons that light up, that should still put them ahead of the tanks…
