  1. The good news for now is that the player count is holding steady. What they need to pay attention to is going to be is where Endwalker ends up when 6.55 hits and whether Shadowbringers was just a fluke.

  2. Of course it isnt a risk to 14. One is an mmo and one is single player. They offer entirely different things the other can't provide.

That's like saying this Chinese food spot might have issues because of an Indian food place. They offer entirely different things. No one wants the same meal always. One day you'll want Chinese again. After people are done with 16, they will go back for what they loved about 14 that 16 DOESNT have

  3. Having played since ff14 2013 the games lack of content is difficult to deal with. The main meat of the game is casual battle content. Everything else is side/filler imo. And lately the game has lacked the variety it's had in the past. The battle content has shrunk from storm blood to shadowbringers and from shadowbringers to endwalker. I check my island. Do trial and normal roulette. Go Frontline roulette. Then I have nothing i want to do. All the roulettes are stacked to ARR content. Later alliance raids are somewhat dead. There's no relic pulling people into underpopulated content. I only stay active so I don't miss my pvp series. Weekly reset feels pointless because the gear is quickly obsolete. (We'll be ready for 7.0 at least.) The question at the end is always. Is this worth resubbing? This expansion, the answer has been no. I've been very on and off this expansion.

  4. Kinda of a cheeky argument–the daily player count is higher for Endwalker than ever before. The peaks for Endwalker (except for launch) isn't higher than the peak for shadowbringers (the leadup to Endwalker) but the troughs for players are higher than the peaks for Shadowbringers.

Some players will always get burned out, but the game is still growing and has grown from the same spot in the same expansion last yet.

In fact… to put it in perspective, this was the time in the last expansion when asmon started. Ginger Prime did claim 'They lost a huge chunk of their active player base' which is simply false and is not supported by the numbers. That was right to be challened.

I know some people did get burned out on the game and content creation (like Ginger Prime, and it's valid that he did so) but to say that this is the generalized trend or that they 'lost a huge chunk' is just not correct.

  5. Player numbers do matter, if it didn't why else would Blizzard turn to a Pay to Win Model? cough They lost millions upon millions of their subs and panicked. cough
But I love FFXIV much more than I ever did Acti-Blizzard titles.

  6. While I understand why the content cuts happened, the one that hit me the most was the side story dungeons, surprisingly. This made expert roulette more fun because every patches, the roulette would be entirely differend, so dungeons never felt too old or boring by having a single dungeon staying in the list for 8 months (3 dungeons during the X.0 – X.1 cycle).

I wish we could go back to Stormblood for this, just having one extra dungeon would make a significant difference in our day to day.

  7. Since endwalker launched I’ve been stuck in queues getting on behemoth. It’s not the worst queue of course, but I have never experienced queue times this late into the expansion.

But I will say that yeah people gotta take breaks oh geez. Xiv is my main game sure, but I’ll have days/weeks where I fixate on other games because my brain fixates on them
