  1. I mean I've just started on pc after moving from ps4 post stormblood but if I couldn't find a team to get a raid done (which judging from my ps4 days making it all the way to the end of stormblood by myself without a single free company invite or friend request) it would be nice for people like me lol
But to clarify the true endgame of 14 is fashion and I think its kinda unfair that they lock the cosmetics behind this ridiculously hard content like 3% of the community out of hundreds of thousands of people ate actually gonna complete I'd be more fine with them just making the activity super hard until someone clears it at world first then make it accessible and playable for everyone instead of just the people who live in 14

  2. When you shift your game from “have fun” to “become competitive”, this kind of crap happens. I have never seen a bot for older Lucas Arts’ adventure games, but I would stop what I’m doing if I have a chance to go back and play Monkey Island: Le Chuck’s Revenge or Day of the Tentacle 2, because those games were pure fun.

Yet, any – ANY – game that is competitive is plagued by cheaters, hacks, mods and the likes to give another player the edge to compensate his/her lack of abilities and the apparent deep pockets.

This is a mistake SqE is making: promoting competition to the game. Just keep it fun for those who enjoy the game as it is.

  3. 10:51 – I have trouble focusing on my buffs bar so I install an add on to help me track it (…) so I don’t have a problem with it.

Well, I have trouble focusing on MY buffs bars, so I TRAIN myself to pay more attention to the buffs. When you use an add on to fix a behavior of yours, you too are taking an edge on me. So yes, it IS a problem.

Everybody has problems. Learn to deal with them yourself with the tools the game gives you, instead of cheating.

  4. This game is meant to be played blind, without foreknowledge of fights beyond what the story has taught the character. That is, does it make sense that my character would know exactly what the boss is going to do and when? If not, then why should I as the player have that knowledge? That's how I want to play it, even if it means I might never clear some content.

  5. No comment on the ff11 ama. They refused to allow my question about a classic 75 sever. And didn't answer why they cancelled the mobile version and what happened to the assets

  6. This didn't come out of nowhere. Botting has been present since at least the days of early Heavensward. The difference is that they weren't as advanced and they weren't able to clear hardcore content reliably. But where things began to change was late Shadowbringers and they've further upped their game for Endwalker.

Unfortunately, this is the downside to FF14's heavily choreographed fight design. And I cannot stress this enough. They NEED to add indicators back into the game instead of taking them out. Indicators allow for more complex fight designs that make it more difficult for bots. You can even add elements of RNG that you cannot do when indicators are hidden.

  7. I don't know how this is a problem… I've been playing for a VERY long time and the rules haven't changed. When you're at a buffet, don't touch the food with your hands, or get anything on the food that's not yours, respect everyone after you. If you wanna put stuff on your food, that's cool… don't talk about it cause we don't care.

  8. I cant agree with Bryan here. I've seen the bans pushed onto players for using mods and ad-ons consistently, when caught. Have a suggestion for improvement? There's a way to provide your feedback. U do something you know is not allowed, get caught, then banned? Don't "surprise Pikachu face" and go cry on the internet. It has always been a thing. Use mods and ad-ons at your own risk. The bans have always been consistent. We're only talking about it now due to the immense sudden growth of the community. More eyes and minds on the game. More public attention.

  9. Honestly, I think the ToS just needs an update (which could easily happen, at any time) specifically allowing certain add-ons like graphics updates and UI improvements that don’t offer more information that otherwise available, because it feels really stupid and arbitrary for someone to get a suspension for a UI add on and then YoshiP to turn around and go “that’s a really good idea actually, we’ll look into adding it, but you’re still in trouble though”. So what? Just don’t use this thing that improves your experience until Uncle YoshiP gets around to adding it in 7.0 and now it’s okay, when you could easily have had it that entire time? I’m not the only one that thinks it’s really dissonant to see the devs going “we’re suspending people for this add on, but it’s a really good idea so we’re taking it and using it ourselves” right? I’m going to keep railing against SE for their current ToS and saying I want changes.

To touch on the other major point in this video of bots, they aren’t going away, and that’s kind of just an unfortunate reality. SE can’t see on your computer, and I don’t think most players are bothered by it enough to tolerate a Riot Valorant style root kit anti cheat and all the security/privacy concerns it brings up. Not to mention if memory serves there’s some issues (legally? culturally? I can’t recall) with SE implementing a system like that as a Japanese company.

  10. They really don’t wanna add anti cheat and if they do i think you’ll find a not insignificant portion of the playerbase will quit. Not because they are cheaters either. Anticheat can be taxing on your pc, so lower spec pcs may not get the performance they are used to, and anti cheat can have security vulnerabilities.
