  1. My main issue is pixel crawling.
Its hard to explain but its where lines move from one side to another whilst moving my character, i know it has to do with anti-aliasing but i've never found a fix for this issue.
All i know is that i play on 1080p with maxed settings, my gf plays on 1440p or higher and doesn't have the issue (seems like higher res fixes or atleast makes the effect less)
Does anyone have any fix for this?

  2. With my crappy 60Hz panel, I cap my game at 120FPS, but I also enable Radeon Chill, which drops the frame rate when I am not moving the mouse or pressing any keys – aka truly idling – to the 60FPS my monitor supports. This helps keeping the GPU to stay always below 50C, reduces power consumption while all bells and whistles are turned on.

  3. Disabling Parallax Occlusion also changes the wall textures, similar to reducing the SSAO from HBAO+: Quality to Light. "Fixes" the floor but messes everything else. And SSAO has a bigger impact than PO, so you better work on SSAO instead.

  4. You have a 13900k like me and a 4090. I have a 4070ti. Are you running shaders or something in this video? I am getting 292-305 fps in the same spot in game on maximum.

I’m guessing it’s lower because you’re recording? Thumbnail says 570+ but you didn’t really show that in game from what I saw.

Tbh… idk why what I’m asking even matters because I like to keep things up as much as possible besides the character shadows and a few other things. Anyway, thanks for the Vid.

  5. Just a little addition, make sure to uncheck the "Naturally darken the edges of the screen" box, if you want to avoid the "Limb Darkening" effect, that is toggled by default on the maximum preset.

  6. Just a heads up that some parts of FFXIV's physics engine is tied to FPS. You can do some testing with any dance that will cause a lot of movement, but basically fabrics and animations will look more stiff (and dare I say: Janky) once you go above 60 FPS. I usually use the NVIDIA control panel to cap ffxiv_dx11.exe at 60 frames per second as a result.

Mind you, I'm one of those weird folks that don't see any improvement above 60fps in the first place. I'm far more sensitive to variations of FPS than I am in raw framerate.

  7. Any suggestions for High refresh rate monitors and full screen borderless? I have a 2k monitor 144hz and the switch to full screen borderless it's crazy bad. Like I'll have random Frame rate drops, Visual tearing, and brightness flickering? I've been going crazy trying to research and resolve this for weeks lol

Any feedback would be most appreciated. Great content as always Desperius!
