  1. Back in 1.0 you could start in any city state regardless of the class you chose so if you picked conjurer for example you could start in ul'dah but guild was still in gridania not like we have now how your class Determines what city state you start in

  2. Also you can still play the 1.0 version of the game people have made custom servers not sure how much of the story is there but the over world itself is all there to play it you just need to own a copy of the 1.0 version I gonna see if i can get it working and play it myself

  3. Everything in 1.0 cutscenes was mocapped, so it "looked" way better.

That was actually the big problem: they focused too much on looks to the detriment of everything else.

The game play, itself, was sluggish as fuck. They made things so graphics intensive, the damn Christmas trees during the Starlight Festival could melt your gpu.😂

The big thing Yoshi-P introduced to FFXIV was something WoW mastered years earlier: make the game playable on as many platforms as possible. You can play FFXIV:ARR on a potato. It won't look as pretty, but it's playable.

Alternatively, if you have a really good pc and can handle the game on Ultra settings with a ReShade preset installed, even 2.0 can look gorgeous.😁

  4. The ARR cinematic hits so much harder after Endwalker.

    Spoilers Below:

Seeing Louisoix battle Bahamut, with the future Scions all praying and granting their aether to his summoning spell, it reminded me of the final battle against the Endsinger.

That last fight is so intense when you consider the overarching story–how the Warrior of Light was in the same position as Louisoix. It was hard to stay on my rotation because I had chills through the entire 2nd half of the fight. My hands were shaking.😅

  5. 18:45 hidden loading screen. Instead of having a brief loading screen, you have to walk a long way with the horizon hidden while textures load in. I'd rather have the loading screen, tbh. long boring walks – especially frequent forced ones – are awful.
