SPOILERS for FFXIV story from expansions Heavensward & Shadowbringers!
I started this project as an experiment to learn Storyboard Pro 7 when I was still playing through early Shadowbringers, long before I knew just how often WoL would chat with Ardbert and how their relationship would evolve. As of this upload, I’ve caught up to patch 6.5 of Endwalker, where I finalized the last third of the boards with more story context in mind that was revealed long after the starting point of this piece. I got too lazy to try to learn how to use SBP’s animation timeline, so I just composited everything in After Effects LOL
I love my Lalafell!! And as much as I love drawing silly lala content, I also enjoy pushing the serious side of this game’s race. There’s lots of potential for nuance just like any other of the character choices. I hope you enjoy this video!

Love the small shifts of the facial expressions, you did a wonderful job storyboarding movement — feel like it was moving in my head. Also glad to see someone else get hit by that Thordan WHAT ARE YOU scene hard
Love the face expressions and subtle movements! Additionally the mere thought of having Ardbert always somewhere close to your WoL gave me some well needed comfort during gameplay ;u;
