At OCE, people entirely skip the first trashmobs to go to the next…now it seems you can't seeing you need to kill those said mobs before the Magitek Terminal gets acttivated. Looks good to me. Lol
The first time I did this dungeon years ago, I almost stopped playing the game. It was before the cutscenes were made non-skippable, and I guess I got the wrong pick of the party, because even after I stated it was my first-time running it my response I got was "Just watch the cutscenes at the Inn." I understand the context afterward that those players didn't want to watch a bagillion scenes of story sequences because they were running their daily's: But there was no context for any of that for a new player here. This was not content to go watch cutscenes later, for a new player this was the end of the game. Like if you were forced to be stuck with the options of either someone hitting the "skip dialog" button confronting Sephiroth, or someone just doing the boss for you because you decided to let Cloud say "Let's Mosey!" As someone who came exclusively into this game from a non-mmo-live service space, it was easily one of the single-most off-putting experiences I've had while playing a game. Everyone blasting forward, cutscenes start playing, and before I know it half the bosses are dead and I don't know why. I don't know who to blame for that: Players who were put into a position where it was advantageous of them to not care, or the developers who didn't think this area through at all. When I was hearing YoshiP talk about this upcoming update and the rework of this particular dungeon, and the inclusion of Trusts in earlier content… God that resonated with me personally. Catharsis happened for a situation that I had almost forgotten. When people state that this type of update is going to encourage players not to play with other players, I feel obligated just from my experience to start shouting the opposite. Like, I only stuck with this game after that because of morbid curiosity to just finish the story content: And that wasn't out of anything positive that's for sure. There were other players that reached out, bemoaning similar experiences but encouraging the goal to get through to the end of the story. (Which at the time was just before 3.0.) If I didn't have those two things happening, this dungeon would have straight-up been the end of FFXIV for me. I'm glad nobody gets to experience that ever again.
And yes, it's really weird to see players actually stop and fight the adds here I'm not going to get used to that.
The new Gaius boss gives Zenos vibes. Near the end of the battle, he has his 4 blades serve as phantoms that you have to destroy before he reaches full power.
While it would have been great to lose more unskippable cutscenes, the new Gaius fight more than made up for it, imo.
Okay that Gaius fight is really cool
I want to see Lahabrea solo
Can you do it with trusts?
