  1. Patch 6.25 is here! And with it comes the awesome Variant dungeons with lots of mysteries to solve and 12 different endings to find. Mike took a look the other day – and just HAD to clear all of it. Have you done the Variant Dungeons, what did you think?

  2. Honestly feeling pretty done with FFXIV… the real story is wrapped up and while the new stuff has been great story wise, I still feel bummed out by how instanced everything is.

But then again, most other MMOs are kinda empty… Wotlk Classic was fun, because there is people everywhere again. Dungeons are fucking dead tho…. they really need RDF for dungeons there, next to impossible finding people below 70. Even tho the world is filled with players, like its PACKED.

FFXIV has lovely cities and stuff but…. To much of the zones are just big empty fields with random mobs, often not even associated with any quests etc.

I think if someone took the world building of New World, where mobs are only in logical locations with logical behaviours, the amazing timeless art style of WoW along with its ease of access (looking at you MSQ blocking dungeons and zones). And then the storytelling and QoL from FFXIV…. You'd end up with a really really stellar MMO with a world that feels alive even without players everywhere.

One can dream, but they arent dying at least and development goes on. Now to hope full dive VR is a thing before I die haha.

  3. I don't think solo is that hard at all
I play sage and I almost fall asleep on how easy it is since you get auto heal from kardia and you can just go full dmg mode.

The dungeon adjust itself by the role you're going in.
If it a healer well you know, lower dmg numbers and lower HP.

  4. I ran it with friends and we had a blast trying random shit (I, too, was convinced the rickety bridge held a secret) until we finally found the END-end boss.

We’re also all in love with our sponge mice and skinks.

  5. glad you're enjoying the current content, but are there any plans to pick up with videos discussing the MSQ content? last I checked, this channel left off the summary side of things at the end of 5.0

  6. Did 11/12 solo as I just speedran through it, I usually dislike dungeon content but this was actually fun as you can go at your own pace… It only took a few hours the way I did it and it wasn't too bad at all!

  7. The only problem is that the rewards are a bit lacking.
They're not terrible, the mount is good, the emote is cute, and the glam is…hit or miss, admittedly.
I feel it is a miss opportunity to not incorporate the Manderville weapons in some way. Like, purchasable materials or something. Those that do normal have a longer grind, but those that do criterion or savage have a chance to acquire them earlier for overcoming the challenge. That would be enough for me, I feel.

  8. I loved it, it's a really cool piece of content and it was really fun to figure out the mechanics and the routes on my own.
The criterion and savage versions could give some better rewards though.

  10. Ive played ff14 long enough to know never to expect things to be to complex. So I guess having to jump on a bridge or running over it might be a bit to hard for FF14 to program in a trigger.

  11. It has been so much fun doing the variant dungeons! 2 of us have been running them as summoners so we can explore and just have fun. I have done each boss (including note 12) solo as a summoner as well with the tank shield and cure extra abilities. Very much soloable without too much difficulty. Enough of a challenge to keep me focused and engaged but not too hard that I was dying. I recommend trying solo if you haven't already, it's a lot of fun and once you know the mechanics, you should clear easily.
