Never done this kind of video before, please forgive the jank format
Both videos recorded at their highest settings, AA disabled on both to avoid blurring, game is 1080p resolution, as it’s the most widely used, DLSS/FSR disabled on the DT side
Chose these cutscenes because there’s a number of techniques used to help enhance the scene, and it has most of our scion crew with us.

at the 6.16 mark you can really see the difference…. more life in the expression!
Is the Graphical Update rollout complete now Dawntrail has released?
The new lighting looks a bit off in specific moments (mostly due to how we got used to old rendering method), though shadows and general character lighting does look much better
You notice the graphics update more when you’re in dawntrail areas. The old zones at this point feels like you are wearing glasses for the first time
I never expected it to be so drastic. The moment I stepped out of my inn room at the Quicksand it was like stepping into another world.
AA shouldn't be disabled, as it was broken prior to 7.0 but basically fixed now.
Some things I like, some things I hate. What a weird update.
Definitely hate my face now, and Fantasia doesn’t help. Fuck.
So they turned up the brightness?
It’s like there is a flashlight pointing right at the faces of those characters.
Now they need to fix hands and feet
How someone can look at a shot like 0:48 or 2:45 and say the only change they made is things look brighter is actually beyond me. You have to be hard of sight, have a shitty monitor, or trolling to not notice the improvements to lighting, shadows, textures (mostly in the environment and the character models). Sure, the less intentional lighting through the use of actual environmental lighting and shadows makes some stuff a little less dramatic, and some stuff is a definitely awkward as a result of putting upgraded tech into an older cutscene not built for it, but to ignore all of the changes and downplaying it is crazy.
Edit: Forgot to mention that shadows are definitely sharper, making dark spots even darker. How you can make something darker by "just turning up brightness" is beyond me.
