  2. Hello gentlemen! I can see the hatred coming from a FB FF14 group, the comments are people who are probably new and jump on a bandwagon of hate towards your content. No one can give me a real reason of this hatred, they hate because they are hateful community of FF14. 🤷‍♂️

    You have the most adult conversations about videogames and to me that is great, I love it!
    They say your videos are too long, they give too much passive aggressiveness towards your content. I think these people wanna see "meme" content which for them is their "language" in how they understand things, (basically you have speak unga bunga to them.)* This generation of gamers i swear 🙄* but that is not excuse to hate on your content.
    I wish you both success and will continue my support towards you both. 🙏

  4. Good for you, Brian. I say it all the time, why play a game you aren't enjoying? Simple as that.

    Slightly unrelated, how's New World these days? I saw the expansion/major content release it had and have been hearing great things about it. Any major changes to some of the systems or anything like that? I played it at launch very briefly(maybe a couple weeks, just didn't have time for it when it released) and I enjoyed it for the most part, but saw some stuff from content creators that worried me. Maybe I'll jump back in sometime!

  5. Thanks, Brian & Chris for the video. As I stated in the comments on the W2G Youtube, Good Luck Brian in your future endeavors. Your family, health, mental state, and future aspirations always come first. I also took a break from FF14 at the beginning of 6.2, and haven't finished the 6.2, but hopefully planning to return in January of 2023 & hit fan-fanfest. FF14 consume my gaming time so much that I left a lot of games that I have unplayed. Now I'm playing a lot of games that I have backlogged; I also step away from social media just for mental health reasons.
    I really don't understand why people have an issue with your decision regarding your life.

  6. No one is criticizing your personal stuff. If they are their opinion doesn’t matter.

    That being said this was no surprise. Brians commentary feels like it has become increasingly negative towards 14. If it’s time to roll it’s time to roll. Mental health, family life, personal business is personal. Take care of you.

  7. I really need to say, that you Brian here were the reason i watch the channel in the first place. Hearing and seeing you talk about FFXIV always was a great thing for me here. Now with you gone from that community, I dont know if I will watch further Videos of you.

    And do not take it as a salty/angry/frustrated response. I cheer for your way but it is one I as a viewer will not follow you. But your videos were fun. Thanks for them.

  11. I could see it. A lot of content lately has been negative and there have been signs of burnout which may have contributed to that. I wish you well in your endeavors, but seeing how I don't really care for New World I likely won't be following content as much.

  12. Anyone paying attention saw this change coming, and from my perspective it's a good thing. As we grow older, our interests change which means the games we play will also change. For me it was the old arcade games of the late 70's and 80's to FPS games in college like Castle Wolfenstein and Doom. In my mid 30's that changed again to some RPG games, and since then if a game doesn't have a story then I have zero interest in it. Doom and Wolferstein still release games for those franchises, but I haven't played of them since 2003 because I no longer care about playing FPS games. I want a good story and be active in it. I don't play WoW anymore because of that…there's a story but I'm not really a part of it. It's a story without a protagonist, and I like being the protagonist which is why I've stuck with swtor as my main game despite it's not the biggest one out there. It's what I like most.

    So for this change coming now, it seems like a natural thing. Like you said, Endwalker provided a perfect place to step away because they essentially ended a thirteen year narrative. A fulfilling conclusion. I've seen some of the comments about how can New World be better than FFXIV, and the answer is quite simple…it's the change you want so you're making the change you want. That's all that really matters. If it's a decision you feel is right and comfortable, then that's a great thing. And in the end that's all that matters.

    Nothing against 14. 14 is fine. There are only so many hours in the day, though, and he'd rather spend those hours with family and a different game.

  20. I am sad to see Brian leave FFXIV but I understand. Thank you for all the love and support for the game all this time. I've gotten to play with you in the game a few times which was a delight. You've followed my small baby Twitch channel and your guides have always been a delight, as a fellow dirty controller player. I wish you nothing but the best in life and if you ever do come back to the game, I'll be someone who will welcome you back with open arms.

  23. Honestly, yeah I think FFXIV just ain't for him anymore. I have my own grievances with the game, ways that I think "it could be better", but they are very much misaligned with Brian's. I think maybe part of the reason there could been a negative response is the way he phrased it as "wanting it to be better". A lot of people, myself included, disagree that what he wants is necessarily for the better.

    All said though, have fun with New World. It didn't really do it for me. But I could see myself trying again if they added controller support.

  25. I just want to add a few things. The first is that it's dumb for people to be so negative. If you dislike the current game…take a break. Yoshi P supports living life over living in game. The second is that I wish you luck in your future endeavor. I personally bet that you will be bitten by the 7.0 for story. We will see in time but I think your hiatus will be shorter than you may expect in the current moment.

    Now finally (apologies in advance) some negative remarks, or I suppose more realistically, some points of confusion. What in the world are you guys doing with so many channels? I stopped watching so much because it is so disjointed and spread bare and yet repetitive when ping-ponging around from video to video, channel to channel. I know in the documentary relatively recently Brian discussed the multi channel approach but obviously it isn't working. You are diluting and separating your followers into all these tiny groups when (and I think I speak for a large number of viewers) it would be preferable by a large degree to know one or two channels encompasses all of the content brought by the dream team.

    This comment is done out of love and I wish you both the absolute best. If you have some rebuttal to my gripes please put me in my place because at this point I am so goddamn confused on your online presence. Answers PLEASE

  29. The parasocial outrage that came out of a HAPPY announcement just makes me SMH. Leaving because it feels natural is not a bad thing just because you are going to spend time on other things. I think it's great you are both in the position that you are both doing what you love and enjoy without having to force it for the sake of clicks. Wishing Brian the best in his comedy career!

When I watched your quitting XIV video I was left with one huge question that was unanswered in the video: You said you didn't feel the game provided what you hoped/wanted, even though you gave some example what you enjoy in New World, I never played it, so I do not know the 'risk' you speak of. That is why I was wondering: What do you wish to see in FFXIV or see changed? Syste and otherwise. Also the risks. I wish to understand the meaning as somebody who hears such words often in communities but I do not know the real meaning. ^^ Making a video on it, it may be helpful, because your videos ARE watched by SE. And I wondered if I missed the answer in your video because I am not first language English I can misunderstand. Thank you for the videos, and always helped my controller usage. I am always in your debt.
