  1. I thought it was my internet or something at first but the visual quality of this isn't great. Could it be the way it was exported from Twitch that has crunched the quality or something? It looks bad on a phone as well as a 1080p screen and TV, so kinda affects the viewing for me. Grats on your extreme kill though WP

  3. As I was someone who commented on the video from the other day about doing an extreme trial at min ilvl for a true challenge, I'm very impressed, gg. You definitely kept going, had a lot of patience and kudos to you. I can't wait to see the next ext trial you do and it seems your twitch chat loved watching it as well 🙂 Recommendations: Make sure you're up to date with your job quests. If you're not sure where they are, reshow your banner in the top left (default location) which points you to the next main story quest, the current job quest for your current job will be just below it if there's one available. Second recommendation, you've hidden a lot of important information in your UI that will make playing a little difficult, I would look at trying to bring some of it back, you'll have to look at recommendations online. Lastly, have a little read up about tanking and being an off tank in FFXIV (and the Dark Knight job as a whole). Seeing how quick you were able to pick up Garuda though, I can see you're going to do well anyway 🙂

There is a FFXIV job guide for each class but it's so basic. Here's the DRK one: https://eu.finalfantasyxiv.com/jobguide/darkknight/

  4. For green screen you can use the in-game housing items (blank partitions painted green) or you can use the FF14 version of GW2 hook which is called GShade and use the green screen shader! Your GW2 shaders would probably work in FF14 right away too, I think!

edit: Make sure to keep up with your job quests to unlock your skills! You were missing some useful things in this fight.
A few tips for tanking –
Defensive cooldowns are usually used 1 by 1, they don't stack very well and healing is fairly powerful.
If you're not main tanking let the main tank get ahead in aggro(a few rotations should be enough) then turn on your stance and shirk if needed. That way you don't steal aggro but also if they die the boss will aggro you next instead of slapping one of the DPS int oblivion.
Most bosses are completely immune to stun and slow, the only things they do you can interrupt are spells whoose castbar flashes RED, they can be interrupted not with a stun, but with an actual interrupt/silence, for a tank that's your "Interject" skill!
I know you don't like it, but the floating text on your character can help identify what you're doing wrong, because the skill name that hits you shows up along with its damage.
Later on bosses will have tank busters which are massive damage skills that chunk your health, they usually have a castbar and need a defensive cooldown, some of the ones in new savage fights might even require two CDs if you're not overgeared.
Every tank has their own Invuln with its own flavor, cons and pros. Dark Knight's(DRK) is called Living Dead and essentially gives you a "shield" that protects you from death then flips into another buff that keeps you alive at 0 health, but after it procs you need to be fully healed or else you still die at then end of it. It can be tricky to use but also has the shortest cooldown of all other invulns.
Also every tank has a ranged attack that has increased enmity generation it can even sometimes pull a boss from your main tank, so be careful.

  5. The Allagan Aetherstones were added to Coil in HW if I recall correctly. HW was when the 8-man raid content was split into two difficulties, normal and savage. The gear from these two difficulties often look the same but have a different item level, secondary stats, and the savage ones are dyeable. This change was not implemented retroactively (Savage SCoB already existed, it was an experiment). The old Coil gear was not dyeable, so they added some craftable replica gear which was to remedy this. The recipes use those new drops. I remember farming those fights unsynced with friends for fun and profit since the replica gear was worth quite a bit.

You asked when the patches come out. That's every 3 to 4 months. Since HW we get this (extremely reductive list) per expansion cycle:
    x.0: MSQ, 8 dungeons, 3 normal trials, 2 extreme trials, normal/savage raid (4 encounters)
x.1: MSQ, # dungeon(s), extreme trial, alliance raid
    x.2: MSQ, # dungeon(s), normal/extreme trial, normal/savage raid
    x.3: MSQ, # dungeon(s), normal/extreme trial, alliance raid
    x.4: MSQ, # dungeon(s), normal/extreme trial, normal/savage raid
x.5 (Split into two patches): MSQ, # dungeon(s), normal/extreme trial, alliance raid

ARR releases were similar. Dungeon numbers aren't listed because they have been reduced each expansion with the stated goal of working on other things. Currently it's one per content patch. Three of the trials will be a part of a quest series which include some instances and extra cutscenes (similar to a raid story). There is a significant amount of other content released for each expansion as well, which is varied and not on an exact schedule: Ultimate raids, relic weapons, deep dungeons, exploratory missions, sidequest series (like Hildy), beast tribe quests, and crafting/gathering stuff.

    Some tips:
There are ability unlocks via class/job quests up to level 70, many are job defining. You switched off that content guide thing, but it will tell you where the quests are if needed.
In HUD Layout there are four numbered buttons, each of those are a layout preset you can switch between (/hudlayout command). Also in there you can change your job gauge to a simplified one if you like, just select it and click on the cog button (e.g. https://eu.finalfantasyxiv.com/jobguide/darkknight/ bottom of the page). I recommend setting up a more maximalist UI for harder content. Reduce the amount of areas you need to look at. Keep important UI elements close together, probably near your character.

Anyways, grats on the clear, would be cool to see some more.

  6. Already commented this on a previous video but I'll add it here again just in case:
You can disable all the damage numbers from allies with Disable Pop-up text. The only downside is that this also disables your own DoT damage numbers, though the benefits outweight the losses in this case imo. Direct damage you inflict is considered Flying text, and you probably should keep that one on.

While I also thing think the debuff UI is a mess, not being able to see other allies' effects on enemies can be a hinderance as well, once you get used to other classes, they can apply important debuffs like increasing the crits on a target or increasing all damage dealt, and you might be missing out on those.

About the Hrothgar: Yes you can absolutely make them look like Kihmari. In fact, I believe he's the default look for the "The Lost" clan option when creating one. Side note: female Hrothgars have been confirmed to be coming later in the future, but this might take them until even the expansion after Endwalker (so about 2-3 years).

  7. VERY IMPORTANT: You are missing skills on this video. Some skills are not obtained by leveling up, you must do your class quests to get them. That's the quest under the main scenario quest, which I believe you may have disabled. Definitely do these as soon as they come up.
