  1. Ok, still in the introduction part of the video and I just have to say the buster sword just brings the room together. Now onto the rest of video, but love your content Brian keep it up brother.

  2. I think bad takes like this is why the ff community is so defensive. People hate on the game because it isn't wow, and many ff players don't want to play wow and don't want their game to turn into wow.

I'll tell you now, if that person got even half of what they demanded I'd likely quit ff. Probably just give up on the genre entirely.

  3. It's one thing to have an opinion and be critical. Sure FFXIV is not perfect. Though what does one expect when one goes out of their way to trash a game. There is a big difference in those two approaches.

  4. Its like when your neighbor's been belittling you and the rest of the community for ages and now that they have to stay at your house (cuz theirs is unfortunately on fire), they're complaining that the toilet doesnt flush in the same direction as theirs.

Also Zepla herself has videos on how wow does certain things better and that video was taken very well. I think if this wasn't written with such vitriol it would have been a more respectful conversation.

  5. I have so much to say on this topic that a comment wouldn’t do it justice. I see both sides here, and I would say that despite the crude manor in the delivery of his criticism, it is valid, even if I do not share the opinion. Different people enjoy different things and that’s okay.

  6. The guy was actually right. FF14 doesn’t have consistent endgame content and never has. He’s also right that they time gate EVERYTHING. Another sin the constantly repeat is making 6 month grinds to fill the long voids between the limited patches.
I’ve been here before, some people may remember my stance on this topic. I HATE the concept of a business, who takes a monthly subscription, telling their consumers “Take a break”. It feels insulting and like a line to cover up the fact they have no intention of improving on the biggest complaint about the game.
I love FF14. 2657 days(last I checked) type of love. My complaint is grounded on wanting the game to be as great as when they rebuilt the world. Over that time I’ve seen way to many people “take a break” and never come back.

  7. a spike in income, and basing expenses off that, would lead to HUGE LOSSES overtime if that income were to stabilize, based off trends. thats Business 101. if ppl stay for a solid year or so, then we can bet our asses that the content will be flowing moving on!

  8. I mean … the tone of the critique seems completely off.

"The game is bad because there isn't enough content"

    Vs

"I really enjoyed the game, I just wish there was more"

    He's confusing quantity with quality

  9. I love the FFXIV community, I've been playing since the ARR beta. However, I have always hated this tendency they have to white knight the game as if it was absolutely perfect. The game is amazing, but it does have its flaws and talking about it in a constructive manner could actually bring even more good to the game down the road. How would the game improve on its flaws if nobody points them out?

  10. WOW players mindset = End game nothing else. Then complain if not handed right away right from the start. GTFO. I've played this game since ARR beta, don't push those ideology to us veterans. We enjoy the constant release cycle

  11. Feel like doing a video for me?

"Should Yoshi P take a year to remaster old content?"

I think a year between Endwalker, and the next expansion spent on remastering ARR would dramatically improve the overall health of the game.

Out of 7 people who tried FFXIV, I was the only one that survived the great filter that was ARR, and the patch content afterwards.

Leaving ARR as it is, costs FFXIV thousands of players. The attrition rate is just unacceptable, and it's time for Yoshi P to take what he's learned over the years, and give the first 100 hours of the game new life.

Make sure you turn on the Japanese subtitles for Yoshi, and friends, please!

  12. So what I will say is that part of our community is very very small. Id say a good 90-95% of our community are reasonable, intelligent folk and the ones that threaten peoples lives over a video game should really shut up or just get what they deserve for making death threats

  13. dude wants to level up to 90 , gear up and go raiding endgame on week 1 no rests , not giving a damn about holidays or anything AND wants others to no life the game so he can raid with them
thats not how ffxiv is built , its a 2 weeks/3 months patch periods that lets you relax between patchs .. you have a family and a job and a life to take care of NOT just ffxiv
this dude trolling and mad cuz his favorite game is dead (yes wow is dead people , please wake up and deal with it)

  14. Stop crying about your family all the time. We all have problems deal with it. This post that you made a video about is an opinions don't make them right and us wrong. I don't share that post opinion and lots of players agree with me.

  15. I haven't got to endwalkers end game but didn't a lot of FF players vote to have the endgame totally redone towards the end of shadowbringers? Where did I see that…

  16. Little late to this vid but wanted to put my post out there. Ex-WoW person here, came over this summer and wrapped up ShB just two weeks before EW.

It is a bit frustrating coming into a new expansion and not having many dungeons to jump into. However, and this is something I learned pretty early into FFXIV, the game starts at level 1. It doesn't start at endgame, or mythic dungeons/mythic raiding. FFXIV's content is far more wholistic, which means, when you're comparing expansions it's very different from WoW.

When comparing WoW expansions, the leveling content (and really the story) isn't even considered apart of the game. So WoW ends up comparing endgame zones like Suramar and Mechagon, M+, raids, grinds, aand PvP. That's it.

FFXIV expansion's on the other hand (from what I've observed) is the experience from the second you pick up the first quest, the entire narrative of the expansion, the dialogues, the characters, the memorable moments, the dungeons, the raids, PvP, alliance raids, leveling alt jobs, community events, and so on.

As someone largely disinterested in raiding and instances beyond a few runs for gear or alt leveling, I really appreciate a game that facilitates more play styles outside of just high end content… or more validates it.

The other thing is, people will always want more dungeons. We could launch with 10 dungeons and then a new one every month for the entire life cycle of the expansion and it still wouldn't be enough for some people. The question is, how many dungeons should be shipped with an expansion and how many should be added during the expansion cycle while maintaining a healthy balance of content outside of that?

I personally don't want to have a repeat of WoW where the only real content in the game is instanced. We're in an MMORPG, I want to be out in the world and I want that world to feel alive with other real people. Just my opinion though.

  17. Actually the guy that got flamed is kinda correct. I play ffxiv for 4 years and the things he points out I largely agree with. First of all ffxiv community is just as toxic as WoW. Maybe not in game but for sure outside the game ( this post probably will prove this )

    * First of all 4 raid bosses per tier is pretty bad, I agree with the guy on that part. Your raid tier ends waaaaay to fast. He is correct on this part imo. It is actually just lazy of SE to get only 4 bosses per tier.

    * PvP ( even though I enjoy the feast ) is indead dead. And they do ZERO efforts in trying to fix it.

    * Dungeons are only used for leveling a job. Outside of that it is just dead content. At least I don't see any reason to go there outside leveling and early gearing. And early gearing I actually skip too because most of the time I got gear pieces ready for alt jobs from doing the extreme modes when they reach max level. Dungeons need a rework so it stays viable to do them. Especially because they are actually really nice. And even for leveling it isn't used anymore actually because Bozjan is actually better and faster to level up. Dungeons are such dead content at this point.

    * I disagree with Yoshi and ffxiv people that throw the statement in there "take a break and resub later". Yeah that doesn't work when you actually managed to get a house does it? Because guess what. Taking a break and it is bye bye house. Something you worked your ass off to get. Hours a day spamm clicking a placard ( against bots ) for days , weeks, months untill you finally get it. All to see it lost if you " take a small break". I think this is just as bad as blizzard releasing 6 months sub mounts in order to keep your sub going. Because guess what, a lot of people during their break pay a sub not to lose the house you worked your ass off. You pay and you don't even play. I get the part of playing other games, I do so too. But saying it is as easy as to unsub and resub is not true because of the housing system.

    * and in general ffxiv people need to learn to relax. Ffxiv is far from perfect. It is actually just ok as a mmo. Not even good or great and for sure not perfect. The guy in the post actually made some good critiques. Unfortunatly for him he had to deal with the ffxiv players that dropped their mask. Fake friendly in game. toxic beyond belief outside the game.
