Sounds like we are interested in the very sale classes lol!
All the tanks are looking real moggers.
Except dark knight rip the edgy tanks
I'm extremely happy that AST didn't get changed as much as I thought it was going to. Probably will be my main for yet another expansion, despite how broken SGE looks lol
I don't know if it's confirmation bias or whatever but my tastes towards job preferences seems to have been influenced by you and your videos. I got into BLM when you simplified its job statement and practice and I started leveling MNK when you did you 5 minute video and I haven't hated its positionals as much I thought considering I won't be juggling upkeep mechanics (FUCK Blood of the Dragon) except for dumping chakra and my brain just viewing the combo as one long endless combo (opo-opo into raptor into coeurl into opo-opo).
But yeah, MNK looked cool in the presentation, especially as someone who is close to lvl50 to flesh out my own MNK, and I'm a die-hard BLM fan so turning Enochian into a trait is just (chef's kiss), and GNB is only getting new stuff added on so I don't have to worry about No Mercy changing too much as I just get new toys to play with.
Nearly all the jobs I’m interested in have some sort of gun.
…..Yes I’m American.
The job action trailer implies that either confiteor combo is outside of reqi, or reqi is extended to at least 6 gcds. It could just be dev trickery but something has probably changed
monk, sage, reaper
Monk looks awesome, but I wonder if every group is going to want a Ninja instead now that most cooldowns are 60s/120s.
I for one am super excited for Samurai, if for no other reason than to see if the new super Midare will have the highest potency of any ability in the game, like it should! (take that Technicaly Step)
Tank: Paladin. I've been a Pld main since ARR, and that won't change in Endwalker. So this will be the one I level up first of all jobs. When it comes to the other tanks, probably Warrior first, then Gunbreaker and Dark Knight at last.
Healer: I'm not sure yet since I'm new to this role. I'm testing the water with the three we currently have, and until I've tried Sage, I'm not sure how I feel about that job. Based on the status of the current healers, I would say Ast because I like jobs where I've got a lot to do. But with the changes to the sects in Endwalker, this could change.
Melee DPS: Reaper look fun, but again, I need to try it before giving my judgment. So I'll go with Monk since I, again, prefer busy jobs. Followed by Ninja, Dragoon and Samurai.
Ranged DPS: That will be Dancer. I'm having so much fun with that job. Then Bard because I love the aesthetic, and Machinist at last.
Caster DPS: Most likely Black Mage. Why? KABOOM! That's why. 🙂 Then Red Mage afterwards, and the Summoner last. I put Smn at the bottom because, honestly, I'm not sure about the rework of that job yet. It looks flashy, but I'm a bit worried that it has lost too much flexibility in its rotations and has become too static. But I'll need to try it before I give my final judgment on how it's to play.
Aside from the eno-chan change, I'm disappointed in the black mage changes. Not only did we not need that fire-ice combination move (refreshing with fire 1 is enough), they're unnecessarily updating blizzard 2, which you only use until you get freeze. I really wish they'd delete blizzard 2, consolidate ice 1 into blizzard 3, and overall clean up the class a bit. Despite it being my main, I'm not looking forward to the possibility that I'll now have to use blizzard 2 after unlocking freeze. It feels like they're making me use skills on black mage we really don't need.
Tank: Gunbreaker/Warrior I'm picking two because I have two characters and I main tank on my alt. They're exactly equal to me, and none of the changes look like they're gonna make a difference. After that it's Dark Knight just for the aesthetic.
Healer: Sage, it's not even really a contest for me. I like barrier healing and while I enjoy the healing kit Scholar has, the DPS is terrible to me while both Dpsing and Healing on Sage looks super fun. For my regen healer it will be White Mage, I really don't like SHB Astro and while Endwalker looks like an improvement it doesn't look like enough to change my mind. But if media tour shows that cards are actually cool again, then Astro will take White Mage's place
Melee Dps: Monk or Reaper or Dragoon. Yeah that's how unsure I am, I have the least experience with Melee DPS. While I've played Monk a few times in casual content, I think I disliked it just because it's one of those jobs where it's particularly noticable if you don't know how to play it. So I think I'm gonna level Monk first after Black Mage and try raiding with it, especially since Blitz looks so cool. If I don't like it, I think Reaper is the next most interesting, and if I don't like that I'll return to Ol Reliable and go Dragoon.
Physical Ranged: Machinist, I mained Machinist in Shadowbringers and I loved it so while none of the changes interest me it's an easy choice. I really just don't like the proc based gameplay of Dancer and Bard. In general this role will probably be the last I level anything in, just because I already mained Bard for Stormblood and Machinist for Shadowbringers. I want to move on to something else.
Caster Dps: Black Mage, it's amazing how they changed very little about Black Mage but still managed to make it one of the most hype because what they did give it is super flashy. I really couldn't of asked for better, I was so afraid they would either change it too much or that it would just get the filler treatment that other jobs got. Definitely going to be the job I main for this expansion. Summoner is an easy second choice, I'm so happy it's finally going to feel like a Summoner. Red Mage will still be lazy roulette machine.
seems like war's been less enjoyable from every major update its gotten since i started in SB. I've pretty much resigned to it, but damn this job trailer's done a great job making me look forward to leveling monk.
Not hyped for any specific job, but I am looking forward to the expansion as a whole.
Black mage is probably my most anticipated
