  1. Well… As someone who never loved grinding for stuff – idk it's fine for me. I wasn't even able to finish gold mount in heavensward till tis day cuz I don't feel like farming it. It's not even hard. But it doesn't feel worth it to grind. Or for relics. Or Eureka/Bozja. Sure, stuff I can get there looks cool. Is it worth the grind? Hell no

  2. Im gonna be brief cause honestly…im like the 1% i think Endwalker post content is fine…its actually quite alot imo
I think its funny that people are like "there's no eureka or bozja" but i swear 90% of the people i talk to hate that content…so???
Also maybe its just me but honestly i have so much to do still….like im actually kinda overwhelmed. I still have jobs to level, weapons to grind, mounts to hunt, glams to get….and that's just the tip and i don't even raid (yet)

I will agree tho that yes the amount of people feels less, like finding groups to just do raids like in bozja is hard and that excitement is missing
However maybe just me, but my group of online friends have recently gotten into FF14 and are going through the story for the first time…they have a ton to do still and im excited to help them…and what got them into the game? The super sentai glam from the moonfire faire…no joke that was what made them all play

Not as brief as i planned but long story short…content is fine, not the best but not the worst. Its nice to be able to play other games without that guilt but yet we still have so much to do.

  3. In terms of what has been given in previous patches, these are sort of on par with 2.0's content sizes…except we have less dungeons than what was being released (Use to get 2-3 new side dungeons down to 1 per patch) and like said over and over: No real 'grind' in the game. The people starting in endwalker also have a much easier time leveling jobs up, leveling professions and so much more due to them reducing the EXP needed to level up from past expansions, giving us firmament that made leveling crafters trivial already and gatherers and a whole other bunch of QOL that could make something take a while but ends up being short.

Having played since 2.0 beta and seeing the game change this expansion is proving to be content wise the one that will make older players quit for one reason or another.

Criterion and Variant dungeons ARE FUN. They are good content….but they did a few missteps imho that caused people to disown the content in 1-2 days.
    1) Nothing enticing for the majority of players to attempt harder content. Not necessarily looking for end game gear but the rewards to effort ratio is low reward with high effort unlike Ultimates.
    2) Making it solo effectively made it where the best and optimal gameplay is doing it yourself killing the fun of grouping with friends. I ran friends through to try and get their 12 endings cleared but…they stopped after 5-7 of them.

The relic weapon and even crafted weapons are automated as hell. I managed to complete each step when they came out for Hand/Land tools in a week just because of the ease of what was needed and i felt it was fine. But the relic weapons were laughable. I did the math after my second weapon to determine how easy it was…
If you do ALL your roulettes that reward the farmable endgame currency, you can amass about 900 tomes per day, 1800 tomes in 2 days. Meaning you can finish each weapon in less than 2 days. Even faster if you get lucky on the klohe journal and do hunts. I completed this current patch's weapons in 38 days without really trying. In that time it would of been my 3-4th weapon if i grinded that much with actual effort.

Basically the expansion Post-Patch is empty not because players did everything but because there's nothing to really work for. Is it good? Subjective cause there will be people in the comments section who will defend Endwalker relics or the lack of any meaningful fun grinding options for those who want to play ff14. You can still have fun and enjoy the expansion but i and many others both friends and people i chat in circles about more than 14 all agree on one thing:

Endwalker is just barren at this time.

  4. I'm hoping this lull is a foreshadowing to a big release on Beachtrail. They had to cut dev time for 14 due to 16 with the extended patch time to 4 months, semi-phoned in content. I've been raid logging in 14 lately and not feeling the urge to do my usual daily grinds because despite the replayable things like deep dungeon and criteria being neat and all they just don't inspire me to grind them with limited/lackluster rewards. Even the Orthos weapons are mid for me cosmetically while I used to go and farm palace and even HoH for the weapon glams. Feels like I can "finish" the new content either too quickly or passively that they don't keep my interest. I feel like they could fix these patches with like one or two real good reward shops.

  5. For me it's less about having achieved everything in the game, it's more that there is nothing I want to do in the game anymore. Final Fantasy XIV is very formulaic and since I've played since Heavensward, their "new" content generally feels like some iteration of old content. This game has technically endless content to do but if it's all menial, then I and many others won't want to do it.

Final Fantasy XIV to be honest since Stormblood hasn't even felt like an RPG anymore, your equipment, level, skills feel like they have zero meaning since there is usually one equipment set and meld, one optimal rotation, no elemental system. And since Endwalker, this game doesn't feel like an MMO either.

it genuinely feels like they are scared of any kind of experimentation of genuine fun in their game.

  6. If only they gave EW the typical relic grind quest this expansion…been catching up with Zodiac, Anima and Resistance after i cleared abyssos, and i was really hopeful that this patch the game would give us a different set of grind for the manderville upgrades…but alas it was a complete disappointment.

  7. So I've seen a lot of back and forth on this very topic. Some being understandable about how people are feeling about the game and others who are not. Overall, my two cents is that, if you are brand new to the game. Like you started during Shadowbringers up to current patch, then yes, you have a lot of content to do in the game because you haven't done/touched everything. That is fine and understandable. The game has longevity for you

What others fail to understand, is for those of us who have been playing for longer, all the way to the release of ARR, we have nothing to do because we already did almost everything. We already farmed all the primal mounts. We already did all the raids back when they were current. We already leveled up all the jobs that is offered in the game. We already went and got the max end gear we feel like getting. That is the point people are not getting at, and are even going so far as to say "Well did you do very, very specific and niche X, Y and Z? No? Then you haven't done everything in the game."

I feel like I shouldn't have to do content I feel no drive or energy to do. I personally have been playing since ARR, I always get my characters jobs max level. I always do all the raids that I can, when it comes to content I've done it. But if you asking for specific and niche content like Mahjong? No I haven't done it, nor do I feel like I have to do it just to have something to do in the game. It's just like asking someone who doesn't do raids, who has done all the casual and niche content, "Oh you have done all of that but you have nothing to do? Then go do the raids." It's a two way street. Don't be an ass just to shoot someone down.

Bottom line is that, for long standing players like me and others, there isn't anything to do in the game because we have done the majority of what we want to do, and the content that we do get that we love, doesn't last long what so ever.

Raids: I personally haven't finished them but that is because of personal reasons, but besides that they are not hard to do. Can get done relatively easy.

Variant/Criterion: I have farmed all the Variants and the different pathways and then some because I wanted the rewards. But for Criterion, you need to be able to find 3 other able body people that want to do it, but because there is no good reward structure, there isn't enough people that are doing it just for the sake of doing it. In order to entice people to do A, they need to have B to shoot for.

Eureka Orthos: I love Deep Dungeon as much as the next person, but it is a chore to constantly grind out those Aetherpool arms, especially when you already have the jobs maxed out to 90. Then to either find people to go in as a group with or try them solo runs. It's fun and can be done within reason, but to do it over and over and over again. Just no. This form of content has staying power, but not much staying power.

Overall I just feel like there needs to be content that not only has staying power, but doesn't immediately fill you with dread or boredom to do it. That is what this expansion is lacking and why it feels like the worst expansion out of the lot.

  8. I am sure Zepla know what she is talking about and not out of touch at all~
Although I wonder why her suggestion to make the game "better" sounds like something in other MMO that nobody play anymore 🤔

  10. I loved end-walker! The expansion was really heartwarming and a perfect wrap up. Tbf I’m not an omni crafter, savage raider as only have limited time to play maybe that why I’m still having fun 😂 It seems the complaint in general is long term players have nothing to do. Then play something else in between! The mentality that FF14 should be the only game they invest time in is the crux. It’s like having a favourite food and being upset it doesn’t taste as good after having it everyday.

  11. i honestly feel like Zepla has let the fame go to her head, and is just looking for shit to complain about to produce content, it is the same shit as when people played WoW, now FFXIV is the shiny new toy to bitch about…

  12. I don't understand, Endwalker was largely developed through Covid, so the time between patches was slightly longer which isnt SE's fault. And instead of making use do a mindless grind for a relic, we get to get them easier. Those are the main differences between EW and SHB. EW had an extra ultimate compared to SHB, it had a new Deep Dungeon which SHB didn't, it introduced difficult 4 man content through criterion which SHB didn't have. It is also the expansion wrapping up 10 years of story and connecting us to the new story. I think it is perfectly natural to feel like things have slowed down because storywise they have, like we just defeated a universal threat, but in terms of content there is an equivelant amount to do as past patches. I feel like there is some weirdly high expectation for non-stop content and I don't know where that comes from since this happens every patch/expansion but I think its a bit cringy to come in and say EW is the worst expansion because of it. Especially when you havent experienced all of them.

  13. Idk what it is but I agree, I dont have a want to log in anymore. Been playing since 2013, and there is just no reason to play anymore because it all just feels the same as it always did, there is nothing new or exciting going on.

  14. I do not want another Bozja area to be honest, I get the reasons behind it. But I was there in instances prior to the new update (DR coming update), came in late and saw the players begging for help for LCC and other players being all "nah my mettle is more important than losing it to a bunch of newbies going into LCC. You're all gone wipe and I'll lose more mettle than actual gain."
I wish to not see that behavior again, I wish to not see an activity locked away and required to do to continue because it bottle necked so much. I did so much LCC prep prior to doing DRS that players recognized my name. But god, as it annoying to even get in slightly late game in Bozja.
I even took vacation knowing it might be terrible or encounter players not wanting to help out those that needed LCC cleared to continued.

  16. We knew what we were getting in endwalker patches idk why people are surprised with the "ugh tomes" they showed us a road map early on showing us what to expect, they said these patches will be a lot calmer than what we're used to because there is no looming threat anymore its more so a discovery and back to adventure to see where we go next (Dawntrail now that we know)
I think endwalker could've been better sure but like after living through the hell that was heavensward yeah no ill take endwalker ant day 😂😂
